SUNDAY 24 OCTOBER 1971
United Nations Day
Twentieth Sunday after Trinity
297th day - 68 days to come
Sent a letter to Dick Littlefield, thanking him and telling
him I'd be at Brentano's Nov. 1 and Nov. 3.
BB typed the letter to Bernie Lane (see 10/22) and for
Earl Perel (see 10/20).
Discovered that I didn't have a copy of HAGGLE (see 10/13),
only the rules.
Looking thru LIFE Magazine of 9/24/71 came across an
ad for Sports Illustrated Games including: PRO FOOTBALL GAME,
COLLEGE FOOTBALL GAME, MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL GAME,
HANDICAP GOLF GAME. (Filed in '71 Ad Clips.)
(cont. from 10/25) [10/25]
with his family. Started with the four color markers closer
together and closer to the end of the track, so that he
got more change in the situations. I suggested making
the track shorter. I also suggested getting rid of situation
changes where a stock goes from bottom to top in one reversal -
such as red from $10,000 to $40,000. // He lost his charts &
I read him mine.
At the Skunk Works gave Jim the info on the book
THE PROTRACTED GAME - A WEI - CH'I (see 10/20). He'll get a
review copy and probably pass it on to me.
(cont. from 10/26) [10/26]
EXECUTIVE DECISION, SLEUTH, and VENTURE would be there on Fri. Nov. 5th. Would I come then? Yes, and how about
Monday & Weds.? O.K., if I want to. I reminded him about
MONAD also being mine. He is not sure there is room in
the ad for all of them. (Will other inventors be included?)
Al Richter called. They can't get a baby sitter this Friday.
Changed date to 11/5.
When Al was at Felicia's he had a new craft thing with paper
on wood. She called Avalon Industries and Al went there.
They seemed to like it and kept it for consideration.
Called Jim Dunnigan and I'll go there this Friday to test
ORIGINS OF WORLD WAR II.
Bob Hallowell called from Phil's house in the evening.
NINE OF SWORDS is in a lot of catalogs and now it is a question
of how well it will move. He is making up about 17,000
units and if more are ordered he won't be able to fill them.
He offered to send me half a dozen sets, but I said
