THURSDAY 21 OCTOBER 1971
294th day - 71 days to come
Rcd. a letter from H.A. Kuhn concerning his game TICKER TAPE.
He wants to come to New York to sell me on it.
Rcd. a clipping from Bernie Lane, of a "Super Tinkertoy"
which he found in Signature Magazine, the "Diner's Club" Magazine.
He thinks a set or two would be good for the
Xerox exhibit.
The copy of AGOG Fay Hertog said she was sending came.
Felicia called. One of the inventors of PSYCHE-PATHS wrote to
her trying to get her to handle it. They mentioned
that I knew the game. I told her that I hadn't given
them her address, but that I thought it was a good
game. She said that it bombed at the retail level and
that's all that mattered to her.
Funtastic's SCORE-FOUR came up in the conversation
and she said that she threw out a lot of them last
night after I left. I told her that I didn't have a
copy and she said she'd check with me before she threw
anything else away.
Fay Baker called. She wants Amy to try and fix up my game
TREASURE HUNT to fit her new Specifications. Would I
talk to Amy on the phone about it? Yes, after she has
studied it and has some specific suggestions.
She wants to get it completely programmed before
presenting it to PanAm. Would I agree to a 3-way split
with a programmer? (She has been given a list of good ones
who are out of a job.) Yes.
Called the Richters and made a date for them to come here
Friday the 29th.
Thought of a GAME idea. Have square pcs. which have four
differences: color (red or blue), shape
(square or circular), position (center or corner),
condition (rays or no rays).
[Diagram of three squres One with a red dot. One with a red dot and rays. One with a blue dot and rays.]
All combinations give 16 pcs. 3 sets
give 48. Place 45 on a board in the spaces of a
7 x 7 square with the 4 corners missing. Take turns
removing the 25 pcs. in the center 25 spaces. Score for
the number of features the same as the pcs. on the 4 sides,
not necessarily immediately adjacent. Multiply the number
of matches on each side by each other. If one side has no
matches there is no score.
Another possibility, and probably better. Number the
25 interior spaces in a spiral starting at the center.
Place the 16 edge pcs. Then players in turn place the
25 pcs. in order, each time having a choice of 4 pcs. To
