MONDAY 11 OCTOBER 1971
Columbus Day
284th day - 81 days to come
Tried to call Calin Haycraft (see 10/10) and 9:15. No answer.
Couldn't call after 9:30 because I had to board the plane.
One of the tour members told me that in an outdoor
market on Marleybone Rd. near Maida Vale one dealer
said he had 2000 games.
Called Mary Hilt (see 9/20). We discussed Jed Gaines request
to use the name INTERPLAY. Since there was no protection
there is not much we can do. In any case Mary intends
to put out INTERPLAY, ODD OR EVEN, and TEMPO in small book-
case format - like the sports games which she says are selling
well. She'd just as soon change the names of all of them.
I asked her about my original board for AIRLINE and she said
it was cut up to prepare the wrap-around board that she re-
turned.
Asked her about additional copies of TRANSFORMATION and she said
she'd send me 6. She agreed that the rules will have to be
expanded the next time they are printed.
Called Jack Davis (see 10/1). He had called me to say that he
now has copies of SPEED CIRCUIT, MR. PRESIDENT, and anything
else I want.
I told him about ACQUIRE and STOCKS & BONDS being in
MONEYSWORTH Magazine (see 10/7). When I go there to pick
up the games I'll bring along the Magazine and he'll copy
the article.
Called Claude. Nothing specifically about games.
(Cont. for 10/12) [10/12]
Wasn't particularly interested. She wants to change the
game so that players can fly from anywhere to anywhere.
Told her this would be a completely different game and
I couldn't work on it for the next few months.
Told her I was working on a project for Xerox and she was
impressed.
Call Arthur. Didn't make any dates since he wants me to
go there and I won't have time for awhile.
Called Earl Perel. He is interested in obtaining a loan
from the Small Business Administration to work on games.
He'll call Saturday to get some info he needs for the form.
Fay Hertog called to check exactly where the "X" has to be
added in the diagram for CUTTING CORNERS. I told her that
I still hadn't signed a contract, but she said it is
(cont. on 10/5)
