SUNDAY 26 SEPTEMBER 1971
Sixteenth Sunday after Trinity
269th day - 96 days to come
(cont. from 9/2) [11/4]
"price adjustment" (6 of). Return price to $1000. One supplied for
each chain.
"Financial Aid" (4 of). If drawer has less than $5000 in cash
collect $5000 from corporation.
"Corporation Payment for Efficient Management" (3 of). From
corporation collect $1000 for each full chain and $500 for each
half chain.
"Investment Payoff "(2 of). For each full chain collect pad
price (min. $600) and for each other franchise collect $100, from
corporation.
"Tax Free Bonus" (3 of). Collect $1000 from corporation.
"Business Boom" (1 of). From each opponent collect pad price
for each full franchise and $100 for each other franchise.
[Illegible crossed out] A player can sell a franchise for its pad price at
any time during his turn. Incidentally, in buying a player with a
price change can buy before or after making the change.
If a player needs money to pay another player he may sell
franchises to raise this money (only to the corporation since
there is no bargaining between players) even if it isn't his turn.
He can also take out a loan from the corporation, even if
has franchises he could sell. He gets $10,000 from the corporation
and five payment cards. In each of his next five turns
he must return $2,000 to the corporation together with a
card. If he fails he is out of the game. Also a player who
cannot possibly pay another player after selling all his
franchises is out of the game.
Last player remaining is the winner.
In connection with SKULLDUGGERY Jerry mentioned that there
was some resemblance to the game FIVE THOUSAND. However
Parker dropped it and may be interested in another "jazzier"
dice game. In connection with FRANCHISE, Bill Dohrmann had
mentioned to Jerry that he would be interested in a game based
on franchising.
Showed Jerry my puzzle HOLEY TERROR, and the method of
solving it. He thought it was a good one. (Actually we came
within one piece of solving it. Only the [L-shaped tetrad] piece had two
holes reversed.)
[Started 11/4] [Arrows pointing to line above and below.]
While getting some cards for Jerry I noticed the game
INTERACTION by Ivan L. Preston.
(cont. from 9/25) [12/22]
Claude $1.00 for VINCE LOMBARDI'S GAME and $.80 for
TRADE THE MARKET. I'll pick up the former and we'll decide
on who gets the latter.
