THURSDAY 16 SEPTEMBER 1971
259th day - 106 days to come
Rcd. THE GAMESLETTER (Vol. 7, No. 28 - Sept. 1971).
Rcd. 4 more Answers to the SLEUTH problem in S & T -
1 incorrect.
Called Jed Gaines and he called back around 5. Told him I
hadn't had the chance to send ENTERPLAY to him yet and
it would be expensive. I could send him the rules. He wants
the game and would appreciate if I send it tomorrow morning.
Felicia called. In a letter to Jim Kraus she asked about
WILD WOOD PILE and PLANES.
Pat Duncan (who now seems to be in charge rather than Jerry Green
of the Puzzle Factory will be coming to look at
X-CHANGE - WORD. They don't pay royalties, only a flat fee.
Felicia doesn't think I can place it elsewhere. I asked how
flat the fee would be and she said she wouldn't accept
less than $1000. I said O.K.
I called Phil Orbanes. He'll probably be seeing Bill Knox
of Mag-Nif next week. If the hold harmless clause is not
in the contract it will be directly with me. If it is
in then the contract will be with Infinity. In any case
nothing will be signed until I come back.
Called Fred Schachter at S & T and gave him the address
to send KURSK to, as winner of SLEUTH puzzle.
As I was leaving for date with Claude, Earl, and then
Arthur called. Told them I'd call tomorrow.
Claude told me of his visit to Earl's yesterday. Nothing
on games.
Got the AIRLINE rules ready to send to Felicia.
(cont. from 9/17) [9/17]
was flopping. She knows that they are showing in all the shows.
Bernie Lane called while I was in the bath. Called him back. The
fellow at Xerox suggested $500 as a payment for my work
here plaus one day there at a fee of $100 plus expenses. I
said O.K. Bernie said that he would make sure I would be
credited for all my work. He said not to do anything until
I get a final O.K. from him; he'll call the week we return.
If I do get the O.K. I'm to start lining up the games from
manufacturers, but I can wait until after New Year's to
get to the rest of it.
(Felicia a few times mentioned that there are some rumors
(cont. on 9/15)
