Wrote up the GREAT DOWNHILL SKI GAME for S&T column.
The game NOMINATION came back from Mary Hilt. I cut corners
on more than half of the cards.

Al Richter's two puzzles - SIX BEADS and HALREQUIN came back
from Hallmark. Bob Edwards liked them but was out-
voted. The others thought they were spinoffs of
INSTANT INSANITY.
There was no word about whether they want to see the new
version of SPELLBINDER. At first Felicia wanted to forget
about it (they are getting games from all over) but then said
she'd mention it again in another letter. I said that I
could change the name and submit it as a completely different
game.
She hopes that they'll take TORTS - THE GAME OF LAWSUITS just
to show 3M.
I suggested submitting WHAT'S IT WORTH TO YOU? to Stancraft. She
thinks that, despite Mary Hilt's ability, there is no future in
Stancraft. She hears that Saxon took them over as a tax loss.
She also hears that Whitman is in a lot of trouble.
Herb Roth had her in to play a game called DISHABILLE that
someone had put out independently. He feels that it is an
idea whose time has come and he'll probably handle it.
Felicia has a set of rules for me.
I said that I had LOTTERY in shape to show to Herb Roth
but she said to wait until it is completely finished. There is no hurry.
Phil Orbanes called again. Bob Reiss and his partner Manny L.
will be here Wednesday 9/8 in the morning. Phil will not
come.
I had brought up the matter of old material in my
collection. Phil doesn't think it will come up but he
checked with Bob. Bob will pay something for something of
this nature, but not full royalties.
Bob is not interested in backing a general game magazine
as Jim Dunnigan wanted us to interest him in.
Phil has a prototype of THE NEXT PRESIDENT. Maybe I'll ride
back with Bob Reiss and take a look at it.
I asked Phil about the game ZIG-ZAG. He says it is
a deductive word game and he thinks it is better than
JOTTO. I'll see that too when I come in.
Called Jim Dunnigan to tell him of Bob's lack of interest
