WEDNESDAY 11 AUGUST 1971
223rd day - 142 days to come
[Long illegible entry crossed out.]
Downtown, Brought HOLEY TERROR to Carl Eisenberg. He liked it,
but he wasn't thrilled. He is not sure whether
Reiss will want to do it. Promised me a quick answer by next
Monday.
Took back TANGLED WEB and TORTURE TOWER (which he says
he still likes).
In talking about the adult game business in general he
mentioned that HAllmark had considered BRIDGEVERYONE
a year or so ago. He doesn't understand why they haven't gone in for games -
they are a natural. I kept a straight face.
While Carol made copies of the HOLEY TERROR rules I also had her
run off a copy of my column with LAWSUIT.
To Felicia. She showed me a letter from Mary Hilt. The game
program at Stancraft is hanging on by the teeth. She is sending
back NOMINATION, DANGER STRAITS, and MARLBORO COUNTRY. The
latter two are liked but the earliest possible is in 1973,
if the 4 games introduced go well. (Copied the
letter.)
She had a letter from Bob Edwards. Bob likes Al Richter's puzzles,
SIX BEADS and HARLEQUIN. But he is afraid thar "management"
will reject them as being spinoffs of INSTANT INSANITY.
We decided that I shouldn't write to Jim Goldsberry on
OPEN BRIDGE. No use beating a dead horse. She will probably
send the results to Mary Hilt for an opinion before sending
the model.
She sent the rules and the description of BING - BONG - BALL
(Al Richter's) to Cadaco. If they want to see the model she
is going to ask Al to pay, since it will have to go by
Railway Express because of its size.
Told her that Adela Richter had looked all around her
neighborhood for a copy of ACQUIRE for Al's birthday, but they were
all sold out. Felicia thought of calling Dick Littlefield but
decided against it.
She is anxious to have me finish the LOTTERY game so that she
can show it to Herb Roth.
He is doing very well, except for WHO CAN BEAT NIXON?.
All the ecology games are doing very poorly.
She gave me a copy of THE FAMILY GAME, which I guess she got
from Herb Roth.
Told her I was worried that once Gold Medal decided, if they do,
to publish AGOG they would want the updated review section
before I leave for Europe. She is sure they won't be that much in a hurry.
Gave her WILD WOOD PILE. Wlked with her to P.O. to mail
it. She also mailed the golf GAME that Cadaco rejected
to Hallmark. They are now interested in sports games.
