TUESDAY 10 AUGUST 1971
St. Lawrence
222nd day - 143 days to come
Rcd. a letter from Lester J. Gendron saying he'd like to read my
column on LAWSUIT in S & T.
Rcd. a letter from Rose Marjorie Wilson. Answered my question
on POLY-Y. Said that she would love to give batches of
paperback copies of AGOG as X'Mas gifts.
Rcd. the book YESTERDAY'S GAMES. Not very good.
Rcd. the August PLAYTHINGS. International Learning Corp.
lists two "new" games. STRANGE BEDFELLOWS by Steve Allen
and A MAN CALLED MR. PRESIDENT by Marty Allen. (Sent for info on
this.) Wff 'N Proof lists QWIK - SANE (See 1970). Soular
Systems lists BLACK EXPERIENCE GAME.
Called Felicia. Made date to bring WILD WOOD PILE tomorrow.
Wrote to John Andrews of FANTOCCINI. Asked him to send a
black & white copy to Red Simonsen. Told him I didn't have
a copy of AGOG to send him.
Sent a bid of $7.31 (I believe) to A.H. as a bid on the game
ADVERTISING. Also wrote to Tom Shaw asking him to send me
a copy of the rules if I don't get a copy. Told him I'd
print his letter on THE STOCK MARKET GAME in next column.
Also about possibility of AGOG in paperback.
Started letter to Tom Atwater mainly about the game he asked
about in his last letter - SYMMETRIC SURROUND.
Played EL TABLERO DE JESUS with Joyce's boyfriend Charlie. We both enjoyed it
Tried out the solitaire version of SPELLBINDER and made a
few improvements. // Wrote the rules for HOLEY TERROR.
(cont. from 8/11) [8/11]
In my meeting with Carl Eisenberg he told me that he had signed
with Phil Orbanes to do DREAM MASTER and AQUARIUS 2,
both using the AQUARIUS 2000 mold. Phil signed a clause giving
Carl first refusal rights on anything Phil does on the occult.
Carl wanted some kind of clause from me, but Itold him
that I couldn't give it to him covering all puzzles, and it would
be impossible to pin down the type of puzzle. He agreed.
Dropped in at skunk works. Spoke to Red Simonsen. End of next
week will be fine for my column for S & T #29. He is still
pasting up #28. I looked at my write up on EXECUTIVE DECISION
and I saw that I had deleted the reference to an error in the
rules. Took 2 more copies of #27.
BB and I trying SPELLBINDER solitaire in evening. We like it.
At Felicis's we played one word in 2-hand SPELLBINDER. She
didn't like the rush, but thinks it will sell. She already
wrote to Bob Edwards saying that I have speeded up the
game and whether they'd like to see it again.
(cont. on 8/7)
