MONDAY 9 AUGUST 1971
221st day - 144 days to come
Rcd. my letter to Paul Axel back. Moved and no forwarding address.
MINIATURE BAROQUE et al.
Rcd. issue #4 of GAME DESIGN.
Called John Wiley & Sons. Asked about the book
DYNAMIC MANAGEMENT DECISION GAMES. It has been out of
print since 1968. The girl suggested that I might be able
to get a copy from :
{Super Books
{P.O. 24
{Gebney Sta.
{White Plains, N.Y.
I ordered a copy of THE STUDY OF GAMES. $9.95 plus postage
and tax. Pay after I get it.
Called Carl Eisenberg & told him that Phil Orbanes called me.
Carl would like to do TORTURE TOWER and thinks it would sell.
But Bob Reiss doesn't want to handle it and for the present
Carl is completely dependent on him.
I told him about HOLEY TERROR and I'll bring it in Wednesday.
Even if Carl likes it he won't be able to do it this
year but it would be for 1972. This year he is doing two more
things connected with AQUARIUS 2000, one called
DREAM MASTER and the other I don't remember. He also will
probably do Phil's PRIX.
Doing some more thinking on LOTTERY, also on a theme for
BAZAAR in the new packaging.
Played two games of SPELLBINDER with BB using the minute
timer from the original TUF game. I'll pack it with it since I
have 1 minute timers in the A.H. TUF and TUFABET games. The
game played beautifully and was highly competative. Worked
out a solitaire which BB tried and then I did. It also
worked very well.
Added 3 more length cards which seemed to be about right.
Thinking about a version with turns lasting 1 minute each.
Claude called. He saw a card GAME advertised by 7-UP in
Ebony Magazine. It is racially otiented and has rules
for 3 solitaires. Claude will save the clipping for me.
He has a clipping in his files about a gam toy inventor who
takes his earnings as capital gains. Told Claude about my
checking with a number of accountants.
I told Claude about my new idea for SPELLBINDER. He told me to
by all means submit it to Hallmark. I told him to also submit
THE PURLOINED LETTER. He still has to work on it and when he is
finished he'll hold off until SPELLBINDER's status is clear.
