MONDAY 19 JULY 1971
200th day - 165 days to come
Rcd. a letter from Michael Porcaro of International Division of 3M.
He thanked me for my letter. Only a very limited number of
games will be sold in Europe for the next year or two.
ACQUIRE and BAZAAR are among them.

Rcd. July PLAYTHINGS. Had ad for THUM WRASSLIN (Thumb
Wrestling) which is just what the name says.
Had an ad for NINETYSEVEN.
Had an ad for an 1793 German catalog of toys, games, puzzles,
gimmicks, and gadgets for $5 - (It is, of course, a reproduction)

Called Phil Orbanes and he called me back.
Manny L., Bob Reiss' partner looked at SPACE STIX and
they are send it out for pricing.
Carl Eisenberg is not [illegible crossed out] going to do SPELLBINDER.
He would like to do TANGLED WEB but can't get it done at a usable
price. He is still interested in TORTURE TOWER. Bob Reiss will
have to decide whether it is way too competitive with QUINTESSENCE .
Bob Hallowell is paying royalties on QUINTESSENCE, which surprised me
since it is in the public domain. In fact, the husband of Bob's
former secretary, who submitted it only had the circles different
colors and Bob (or his designer?) added the second color differences.
I suggested my checking on things for Bob H., Bob R., and Carl
to see if they were in public domain.
Bob Reiss wants to come to see my collection. Phil will arrange a
date sometime in August.
The royalty report for NINE OF SWORDS is not due till August 15th.
Phil doesn't think there will be sales of more than 1000. But he
thinks the next quarter will be much better.
Phil thinks that when I come up with new items the best thing
will be to show them to Bob Reiss first and, if he likes them,
he'll decide which company is best to do them.

Thought of another PUZZLE. There are
12 plastic pcs. (as shown) which are somewhat
similar to the pcs. in TANGLE. A base
is provided into which the pcs. are fitted.
As a GAME players in turn place any pc.
they wish. Player who can't place a pc. loses.
Was trying to set up the pcs. so that
all possible configurations of 4 segments are
