WEDNESDAY 7 JULY 1971
188th day - 177 to come
Rcd. the game KOREA from Jim Dunnigan.
Finished the diagrams for SPACE STIX. BB typed it. Then later in
afternoon had two copies made at copy shop. Dana covered
the box and prepared the labels.
Showed RECONSTRUCTION to Dave Kornblum. He liked it and suggested
that a board should be included to keep the pcs. in place.
Thinking about it decided on a board 9 x 6 with recessed spaces.
Also about 20 black pcs for outlining
the shape of particular layout being worked on.
(cont. from 7/8) [7/8]
They are supposed to call sometime today and Felicia
will arrange our getting together.
Felicia called Bob Edwards in Kansas City. He was in a
conference, as was Jim Goldsbury. Felicia left word for
him to call back.
In inventor, Mr. Duval was coming in at 2:30 and Felicia
wanted me to meet him. He originally contacted her
as a possible manufacturer of his games, but will see
her as an agent. (Left with to return at 2:30.)
Felicia gave me a June 16th letter from Bob Edwards to
have copied, also got a copy for myself. It covered
BREAD, ZEC-HI, and said the RED LETTER contract
was being sent.
To Skunk Works. Talked to Red Simonsen. Picked up 2 copies
of S & T #27. Also a copy of GAME DESIGN #2.
Back to Felicia. Duval was already there. he showed her us a card
game called RAINBOW which had a very attractive model
(He is, I believe, a commercial artist) but was a CANASTA rehash.
He sold two games to Hallmark. One is card word game
called REPARTEE. The other GAME he didn't tell us about.
He also intimated that he had sold something to M.B., but
was evasive about it.
Felicia asked him why he didn't show RAINBOW to Hallmark. He
doesn't want too many things with one company.
Felicia told him that he would do just as well on his own,
without the necessity of giving her 35%. (She was afraid
that he would be hard to work with, and i agreed.)
Bob Edwards called. Jim Goldsbury did see OPEN BRIDGE.
A letter from him is on the way but Bob doesn't know what's in it.
Bob had a question of POWER and I spoke to him. In the
rules no [squares with a dot in them] are mentioned, but they are in the set.
Told him I would be seeing Arthur today and I'd have him contact Felicia with
