TUESDAY 6 JULY 1971
187th day - 178 days to come
Wrote the rules for SPACE STIX.
Felicia called. The model of OPEN BRIDGE came back with LIVE WIRE.
No letter. Jim Goldbury was supposed to look at it, and Felicai
thinks that he was out of town. Maybe it was returned
by mistake (but I doubt it). If she doesn't get a letter by
Thursday she'll call while I am there.
Virginia Russell, who did RACE THRU SPACE GAMES, is trying
for some kind of "Woman of the year" award in Buffalo. She would
like me to write a letter stating that it is a good educational game.
Told Felicia I'd look it over and talk to her about it
Thursday when I go there.
Rcd. letter from Barney L. Taylor about HINDU CHECKERS.
(No answer req'd.)
Rcd. letter from Robert S. Ogilvie. Thanked me for my info and
for telling him about IDEAS. (No answer req'd.)
Rcd. June TOYS. Nothing of importance. // Played 500 RUMMY
at my father's.
(cont. from 7/7) [7/8]
the answer.
Bob asked if I had anything to ask him. Yes, when are the
games going to be out. Roughly - in 18 months. But as soon
as something is definite we will be the first to know.
I checked and : X-CHANGE-WORD is still being considered.
RED LETTER almost certainly will be in the first batch.
FITTING & PROPER will be early but not necessarily among
the first. I brought up that the contract makes them contact
us about it at the end of the year. He agreed.
After talking to Bob I mentioned that what they probably
wanted something like ROLAMATIC BRIDGE or DOOP.
Felicia said that ROLAMATIC BRIDGE was bombing and that there
was a good chance that Hallmark had bought out DOOP. They
had asked her a lot of questions about it some time ago.
The inventor of REVOLUTION & COUNTERREVOLUTION has changed
it in accordance with my suggestions. He thinks I am a
great guy, but she thinks I should have gotten some money.
But it is too late now.
In the call from Bob Edwards Felicia asked him about
the two games the Duval had placed with them. Bob said
that REPARTEE was good, and the other GAMEs so-so.
Earlier I had told Felicia about Claude's card word GAME
and she had said she probably wouldn't submit it to
Hallmark, altho I said I didn't mind. After talking to
Bob she said she'd really like to see it. I'll get Claude
busy on it.
Felicia called Ivan "Flash" Kronenfeld and had me talk to
