THURSDAY 1 JULY 1971
182nd day - 183 days to come
Jack Keller here for lunch. Showed him my collection. Played
SPACE STIX. He thought that for in wood the "stix"
should be longer and I was afraid that it would then
be too bid for a bridge table. Tried a "mini-game"
using 24 "stix" making a 3 x 3 layout. It worked
well, but he preferred the larger. I'll probably include
both, suggesting the smaller for duplicate play.
Phil called to talk to Jack. Also told me that Gametime
had rcd. reorders for NINE OF SWORDS from Brentano's
and Bloomingdales.
Phil didn't believe that the size I now have the "stix"
is too small.
Asked Phil for his office no.

Jerry D'Arcey called. Asked if there is a game called
FRANCHISE. Told him that I never saw one. That is his
new name for COMMODITY. He has been pre perfecting it for
the last few weeks, putting every last bit of fun in it. He
now thinks it is the best thing he every [sic] did. He will try
it on Parker first.
He reminded Frank Thibault about CONTIGO. 3M is now
interested in it. Jerry doesn't know if Frank sent me a set.
Frank is leaving on a trip to St. Paul. Will show a number
of things to Schaper. Schaper has seen items by
Marvin Glass and the other big boys, but are still looking.
Felicia called. Not having heard from Mary Hilt she put in a long
distance call. Mary had sent her a letter some time ago,
including the return of the rules for a game that she
said she could understand from the rules. The name
Felicia mentioned was WHAT'S IT WORTH IN DOLLARS? by
Lillian Vogelin (or something like that). It is the game she
GAME about exchanging money that she told me about before.
Mary liked it but felt her run wouldn't be big enough
to make it worthwhile.
In the letter Mary said it is just a matter of formality
for the committee to accept NOMINATION and DANGER STRAITS. She would like to do ESCAPE, but it too is too expensive to
start up for their run.
Rael Cowan has a new GAME which she would like me to see. He'll bring it next Thursday morning, and I'll be in later in day.
Decided to set up RECONSTRUCTION in a 5 x 4 grid with the
following distribution : 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6. Also decided to list all
10 relationships between the letters.
