FRIDAY 18 JUNE
Sacred Heart 1971 169th day - 196 days to come
Rcd. PANZERFAUST (June '71, #45). Featured [crossed out]
THE TWO-BOARD SIMOV GAME which is not a game, but a
method of playing other games with simultaneous movement.
Felicia called. She rcd. a note from Bob Edwards that they were
sending a renewal for the RED LETTER contract. Also
that they were looking forward to seeing X-CHANGE-WORD
and OPEN BRIDGE (not by name). Both items are very hot!
Felicia wrote to Bob that she would talk to me about
RED LETTER. I said I would be happy if she could get
another $250 advance, bringing it to the $500 they are
now giving. Also pointed out that other companies are not
looking for word games. She said that some hush-hush
company might be interested.
She is still waiting for word from 3M. She is also annoyed with
Mary Hilt. 2 weeks ago she sent her the rules of a
GAME based on exchange of foreign currencies, using repli-
cas of the money. Mary was supposed to answer at once
but hasn't yet. Felicia thinks it is a fun game and that
she can place it elsewhere. It was done by Lillian ?
who, Felicia said, has had over a hundred games published.
Felicia said that the reports on EXECUTIVE DECISION continue
good. She wants to play it with me sometime.
She asked if I had read REVOLUTION AND COUNTERREVOLUTION.
I told her that it doesn't build to a climax and could
continue indefinitely with good players. Richard had
told her that it could continue for a week. When I call
him tonight I'll tell him that he has a good idea but it
needs development.
Read over the rules for ORION.
In my talk with Felicia she said that the Amberstones are
bringing in POWUR next Wednesday.
To Post Office. Mailed FOCUS to Mary Hilt; PSYCHE-PATHS to
Frank Armbruster; package of printed matter to Lech
Pijanowski with rules of MEM, TAC-TICKLE, ODD OR EVEN,
and TEMPO. Also sent registered letters to myself with OPEN BRIDGE
and X-CHANGE-WORD.
Looked at the political game CONCENSUS to compare it with
REVOLUTION AND COUNTERREVOLUTION. Some resemblence, but actu-
ally the former is lots better. Tried to call the inventor, but no
answer.
Called Jim Dunnigan. Issue no. 27, for which I did the Toy Fair
roundup is just coming out. My column for no. 28, with
SLEUTH and EXECUTIVE DECISION is already in. Jim doesn't
need no. 29 until the end of July. I'll do a roundup of
