WEDNESDAY 16 JUNE
1971 167th day - 198 days to come
Rcd. NOST-ALGIA (June '71 - No. 134). Discussed CHESSERS
(2 varieties) and CHESKERS.
On a dress BB bought there was a belt made up of
[sketch to left of circle with four circular "holes"; sketch to right of circle with six circular "holes"]
pcs. as shown to left, with 4 holes. Thinking
of a PUZZLE idea with pcs. like at the
right with 6, or possible 7 holes, or colors
in the spaces of some of the holes.
Spoke to Claude. In Brooklyn he saw a math teacher (he
found out later) who was reading AGOG - a library copy. He
struck up a conversation.
Started copying the rules for REVOLUTION AND COUNTERREVOLUTION
on large index cards.
(cont. from 6/18) [6/18]
games from the Stationery Show.
Jim is working with Phil on THE NEXT PRESIDENT as a favor,
with no cut. Bob Reiss very much likes his simulation
approach to the game and is sorry he didn't have him
do the whole thing. As it is the one who had the orig-
inal idea is also doing the manufacturing. Reiss is so
enthusiastic that he is sorry he didn't manufacturer
it himself. This may get him into board games.
When I asked about how LUFTWAFFE was doing I discovered
that Jim doesn't get anything on this. It is Lou Zocchi's.
ANZIO is being dropped.
ORIGINS OF WORLD WAR 2 will be ready by Sept.
A.H. may come out with a $25 deluxe version of STRATEGY 1.
Simulations Publications Corp. is now making some $100,000 a
year gross, compared to some $800,000 for A.H. Jim fig-
ures that Eric Dott, the boss of A.H. will get scared and
try to stop Simulations by sueing. Tom Shaw is a nice
guy, Jim said, but not very smart.
(cont. from 8/1) [7/29]
Felicia called while I was out and spoke to BB. Felicia
spoke to Harry this morning and she may have convinced him
to do a 2 to 3 hour program on my game collection.
In morning drew up new information cards for SPECTRUM
with the 4 being different. This didn't seem to make it
much more difficult when we played.
In my conversation [crossed out] with Wald he told me
