TUESDAY 8 JUNE
1971 159th day - 206 days to come
Rcd. an ad from A.H. for LUFTWAFFE. (Discarded.)
Another long day on OPEN BRIDGE
(cont. from 6/12) [6/29]
Claude called. Told him about Felicia's message. // We arranged date for the 4 of us
for Friday. // Claude wanted to ask Felicia which project he
should work on next.
Arthur called. Arranged date for week from Thursday. He has some
new things to show me.
In conversation with Earl Perel he mentioned that he saw
PSYCHE-PATHS at A & S. I told him about it being 50¢ at
Push Cart.
Called Phil Orbanes. He had me talk to Jack Keller first,
and Jack will come to visit me and for lunch on Thurs-
day, without Phil. Jack did the bio-rhythms computer
program - the thing Bob Hallowell will handle. He expects
to do 100,000 this year.
Asked Phil about NINE OF SWORDS. While it won't do the 25,000
Bob H. originally figured on, Bob Reiss believes it will do from
10,000 to 15,000 this year. Hallowell will send demonstration
models to all retailers with the next to last sword/ as
cover will protect the inside of all other sets.
NINE OF SWORDS will appear in all of Reiss' promotions.
Asked about MANHATTAN MADNESS. Hallowell's designer is
busy finishing up on ORBIT. Because of the problem of
it falling apart ENIGMA is being suspending and ORBIT is
going into its place in all the promotions. If ENIGMA's problem
with staying together can be solved it will be brought out
with a new name and will be shipped knocked down, instead
of assembled. With this saving it will probably be able to
be retailed for $3.
Phil thinks that once Hallowell's designer gets back to
MANHATTAN MADNESS he'll be able to lick it.
Phil is very busy this week with working on THE NEXT PRESIDENT
added to his other duties. We arranged for me to bring him
SPACE STIX a week from Thursday. I'll call to set the time.
I asked Phil which, in general, would be the most advantageous
spot to place a new item; Gametime, Everyone, or Hoi Poloi.
Since Reiss tries just as hard for any of the companies there
is no different there.
Right now Everyone is in much better financial shape. Gund
was so pleased with the sales of AQUARIUS 2000 ha the is
giving Carl money for developing new products and Carl is
very much in control.
