FRIDAY 14 MAY
1971 134th day - 231 days to come
Jack Davis called and when I called back Jan said that they
rcd. the glossy for SLEUTH. Gave her the S&T address
and she'll mail it and one for EXECUTIVE DECISION.
Rcd. 11 copies of the new EXECUTIVE DECISION rules from
Keith Tuggle. Also a letter asking me to update the sets
he sent to Felicia and to me. All the games are being re-
turned for repacking so that no faulty rules will be distri-
buted. // Took out the reference to the error in my column.
Rcd. the game SECURITY from Arthur Katz (see 4/26). Also a
variation called INSURANCE. Seems like a trivial MONOPOLY
takeoff.
Brought my S&T column to Poultron Press. Jim Dunnigan not there, but
talked to Red Simonsen for quite a while. Gave him my column and
also showed him the pictures Dana took of me. He kept 3 from which
he'll pick one, and then return them.
Red offered me some 22 x 28 sheets of hex graph paper which he had
printed up from a computer program, for perfect accuracy.
Thanked him, but will wait till I need some.
Took 6 copies of issue #26. The game is GRUNT, a VietNam game.
Took the T.S.G. - KURSK.
Took some stationery with the new address.
Red is pasting up the rules for STRATEGY I.
Told Red about the Austrian game STRATEGIE. He'd be interested
in seeing it. He suggested sending the manufacturer a copy of
S&T.
At 23rd St. Bookstore bought YOUR MOVE by David L. Silverman
and [MATHEMATICAL PUZZLES by Geoffrey Mott-Smith.
Mailed SERIOUS GAMES and MATHEMATICAL PUZZLES to Lech Pi-
janowski. (Postage 22¢.)
Deposited the Hallmark check in United Mutual Bank.
(cont. from 5/16) [5/17]
ward to seeing me. He is going to use BOWLING SOLITAIRE
in the KRYPTO booklet. One way he sells this is by selling the
deck to teachers for $1.25. Then the kids go out and buy sets.
Reminded him that we had discussed his publishing
DOMINO BEAD GAME. He likes the idea.
Met Frank at St. Croix and at Benjor. He introduced me as
the country's foremost game inventor and mentioned AGOG. They
knew it. The woman at Benjor bought it for his husband.
Gameophiles: Told Charles Wibel to get NEW TOWN to me within a
month so that I can use it for my next column. He said he
would. Also told him I want TAKE, VERBUM EST, and EMOTE.
(cont. on 5/13)
