FRIDAY 16 APRIL 1971
106th day - 259 days to come
Rcd. a letter from Violet I. Gunther. She has a copy of
BUNCO for $1.50 plus postage. Sent her a memo
that I would like to buy it.
Rcd. April issue of TOYS. Nothing of particular interest.
Working on rules for PLANES.
Looked at the material I had on WILD WOOD PILE. I kept a record of
the solution BB found for it. It starts with the pcs. in the other
direction on the base. Thanking of changing back the affected pc.
and stating that there are two solutions.
Rcd. a call from Laura Engle. Told her about what Chatto has to
say on it in his FACTS AND SPECULATIONS ON THE ORIGINS OF PLAYING CARDS.
Also discussed OSMOSIS a little but couldn't tell her how you go about
winning a game. [illegible crossout] She said that in her
neighborhood, Hell's Kitchen, everybody has a copy of AGOG and
they have to know how to play ACQUIRE & MONAD. She asked whether
SLEUTH and EXECUTIVE DECISION were on the market yet, having
heard about them from her friend, Maureen Moran, who wrote to me
some time ago. Told her that it should be very soon, and took her
number to call & tell her:
{Laura Engle
265-5589
Call from Felicia. Still no word from Hallmark.
Felicia rcd. 2 letters from Jim Kraus. First was a carbon of a re-
quest that four copies of SLEUTH be send to Felicia, and to me.
The other said that there was no chance of anything being
done with BAZAAR in 1971, and that if we had any ideas to feel
free to write.
The letter about WILD WOOD PILE being too frustrating was
signed by Kathy Brooks.
The Dr. Flach she mentioned yesterday is a psychiatrist. As well
as ENVIRONMENT, he has a behavioral game called WINDOWS. This,
he says, can be made into a whole series of "games" on different
topics, such as marriage, etc. she hasn't seen it yet.
She hears that business is slow in all the stores.
Mary Hilt said that she would discuss FOCUS when she is in for
the Premium show. I suggested showing Mary GO SEE and
Felicia thought it would be a good idea.
General Mills is very enthusiastic about Felicia & Natelie's
recycling GAME.
Felicia will be working with Irv Brabier (spelling?) who
used to be the head of Ed-U-Cards. He will show children's
TV things to Ideal, and other outlets Felicia presently
doesn't use. Irv insists on their taking 60%.
Started writing the rules for PLANES.
