Rcd. a $5 check from S&T.
Rcd. a letter from Brian Blake. He asked me to send him
Harry Lorayne's book, C.O.D. Called him, and I'll bring
it to his office next week.
He hasn't been in touch with Lorayne lately but
he is pretty sure the GAME is still wanted.
Called Fay Hertog at Random House. I am supposed to
hear from a gal about getting 25 free copies of
the book, all they have left. If I don't hear in next
few days, I am to call Fay again.
Pete Swift called to see if I rcd. the rules of
TABLERO DE JESUS he sent me. Told him I was getting
my comments to him today.
Completed my editing and marked the two copes.
Mailed one and kept one.
Finished painting the TRANFORMATION stones.
Read over the rules of CORNER THE MARKET. Bought it
in '69 and never had the time to read the rules, which
are quite lengthy.
Called Phil Orbanes. Thanked him for the catalog sheet for
NINE OF SWORDS. He said that they are still going to change the
colors, so that the cube is whiter.
He doesn't know the exact status of the Book-of-the-Month
Club mailing. Reiss prepares a 4 page insert which is
given to various catalog mailers, who add it to their catalog.
NINE OF SWORDS is on the first page.
Bob Reiss' company, of which Phil is office manager, is called
Hoi Polloi. They will do games as well as puzzles. Phil is
at present doing development work on two games. This is part
of his duties in the job. However, any original ideas he
has he is free to market. If Reiss takes one, Phil (thru
Infinity-Quest) will get royalties. Reiss knows and approves
of Infinity-Quest. The two games:-
An elaborate and realistic political game invented by
a college professor who has a lot of money. He, the professor,
will do the manufacturing and will get $1 profit on each
copy. Reiss will market and publicize the game. It has two
parts - a primary called THE NEXT PRESIDENT and an election
called CAMPAIGN (which Phil knows has been used). At present
the game is very complicated and expensive to produce.
Phil is trying to simplify the game and get the retail price
down to $10 to $12. The professor is fighting him.
HE-SHE-HIM-HER. Done by the same women who did
CLASS. Play is on a quadrille board. In the center
