SATURDAY 3 APRIL
1971 93rd day - 272 days to come
Rcd. a letter from Dave Calkins an AGOG reader who wrote
before. He wants to subscribe to S & T. (He sent a stamped,
self-addressed envelope.)
(cont. from 4/2) [4/2]
Jim is working on a game he calls LIFE. It is a card
and board game of the type used in PSYCHOLOGY TODAY. I
told him that I was thinking of a game called
LIFESTYLE. Actually I haven't gotten much passed the name.
Got a list from Jim of the Test Series games they are
working on, including revisions to improve those that
have already been published. 1940, KURSK, TAC 103,
NAPOLEON AT WATERLOO, USN: WAR IN THE PACIFIC, WAR IN THE EAST,
ALEXANDER THE GREAT, BUNKER HILL, SARATOGA, 1812, TAC 1,
KOREA (Redesign), DEPLOYMENT (Redesign), LEIPZIG (Redesign), DARK AGES,
BARBAROSSA (Redesign), NORMANDY (Redesign), FLYING FORTRESS (Redesign),
1918 (Redesign), TANNENBERG/1914 (Redesign), NLF, SICILY, PAPAUA.
In addition, STRATEGY 1 is almost ready. It will have 18
scenarios and will sell for $10.
Met the inventor of KURSK. (Didn't catch his name.)
Starting with the next issue of S&T, all the games will have
die cut pieces.
[paragraph fully crossed out]
(cont. from 4/4) [5/18]
Martin suggested Frank's doing THE FRENCH MILITARY GAME.
I said it was done by Decon under the name CORNERED.
Martin gave me a copy of SOLID SHAPES LAB, different
layouts that can be copied and folded into various solids.
Frank gave me his catalog, which gives the folding puzzle
a name PARIS IN THE SPRING. He also gave me a sheet with
Stewart Coffin's PUZZLEs (Tom Atwater's client).
Martin gave me a game BINARY, which was sent to him last
year. Some cards were missing, but they are simply black
on one side and white on the other.
Wald called me. He and Arthur are tired of AFRICAN CHESS and
POWUR and would like to place them with game companies.
I'll set up a meeting with Felicia.
I asked him about what he'd want if DOMINO BEAD GAME
(cont. on 5/22)
