WEDNESDAY 31 MARCH 1971
90th day - 275 days to come
Rcd. a $5 check from S&T.
Rcd. an ad from PLAYTHINGS suggesting that maybe I'd like
to have my own copy" (Discarded.)
Rcd. some more printed material from IDEAS.
Rcd. a letter from Pete Swift. He rewrote the rules for
EL TABLERO DE JESUS. They are good, but longer. He added
one new feather "Running" which I don't think is good.
Going over the diary and prepare a small card file of the
games to include in the S&T column on the Toy Fairs.
Did a little writing.
Called Tom Nelson to ask for copies of HEX-O-GRAM &
TRIPLE TILT by Lakeside. Told him about AIRLINE &
TRANSFORMATION and he was glad that I tipped him off on
them. In describing AIRLINE I said that it had a
lot of opportunity for choice, like ACQUIRE. He said that
ACQUIRE and BRIDGE were the only two games he and his
wife played with friends. He has had 3 different sets
and notices little differences. I explained these, and also
told him about the new changes coming. He has the rest of
the 3M games but only likes ACQUIRE.
Rcd. a letter from Haar Hoolim. He doesn't think Prof. Tauber
will contact him. He has some more interesting puzzle
ideas; also some games.
Mary Hilt called long distance to ask about the contracts. Told her
that I already sent them to Tom. She remarked that the lawyer
changed his mind after she wrote saying it was OK - and she
had to fight him all over again.
3M found out that the company that did their wrap-around
sports games was working on a similar package for Stan-
carft. They objected and the company didn't want to lose
their business. It was too late to find another company to do
it. Instead she will get a triple-fold board for AIRLINE. (I
was happy since I didn't feel comfortable with the copying,)
With the wrap-around the price would have been $8. Now
she can probably bring down the price.
She would like from 3 to 5 sets of stones for
TRANSFORMATION. Would like them by middle of April.
She will be in for the premium show, 5/3 to 56, and
not the stationery show. She will show TRANSFORMATION
and AIRLINE at the show. She did considerable work on
premiums while at Western Printing.
Told her of today's conversation with Tom Nelson.
Reminded her again about wanting a copy of ODYSSEY. She'll
try to remember to send one.
Called Claude. Told him about ECLIPSE being rejected
(cont. on 4/1)
