SUNDAY 28 MARCH 1971
Passion Sunday 87th day - 278 days to come
Finally finished the NOMINATION cards, except that I didn't round
the corners. Packaged it in the box from the new set of
BLOCKHEAD. Packaged CINEMA in the gift box I had used for
ORIGINS OF WORLD WAR II. Pasted a strip over the Impact name
on the MARLBORO COUNTRY rules. Also typed in MAVERICK COUNTRY
as an alternate name.
Ken Morgan called to tell me that the Times had a Macy's ad
for WHO CAN BEAT NIXON? He'll save it for me when we get together
tomorrow.
Drew up a score sheet for NOMINATION. BB typed up a
new set of NOMINATION and CINEMA rules.
(cont. from 3/29) [3/29]
much interested in it but felt that it was too compete-
tive with their Ouija Board. (Wouldn't they take legal action
if someone else put it out?)
According to Dorothy Shapiro, only MOVIE MOGULS is selling. Told
Felicia that I was getting together with its inventor, Ken
Morgan.
In the recycling GAME, she did the research and came up
with a lot of the ideas. But Natelie came up with a cute
"Match & Movie" gimmick and made the model. They are splitting
50-50.
It is now general knowledge that Hallmark is going into the game
business & Felicia notified her stockholders about it.
She said that she is going to ask them for a bigger ad-
vance since they are keeping things so long.
She also said that they are getting very independent,
they say they are getting thousands of games "over the
transom."
They seem to like THE INFERNAL BINARY MACHINE and are
making a better model for testing it.
I borrowed the one copy of WHO CAN BEAT NIXON? that Herb Roth
gave her. I'll copy the information and return it to her, since
she wants to give it as a house gift.
Felicia showed me the letter from Bill Caruson on BAZAAR.
It was less explicit than their phone conversation.
Looked at one of Alice's BALIGRAMS puzzles. It
consisted of a series of two-letter combinations. Object
is to form words by adding letters before & after, to come up
with the longest words. A par is given to try and equal.
To G. & R. secretary gave me a copy of RECKON, ETHICS,
THE PARKING LOT PARABLE (A Frank Armbruster puzzle - but the
rules were missing), and the rules for CAVEAT EMPTOR.
Looked at SOLAR BASES. Each player has a 4x4 Bingo
(cont. on 3/27)
