THURSDAY 25 MARCH 1971
Annunciation B. V. Mary 84th day - 281 days to come
Bought June 1970 SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN Magazine. Also bought
2 boxes of "Doodle Stix", a construction set.
Rcd. a FOCUS order with 30 [cents].
Working in evening on NOMINATION cards.
Claude called. Date for next week. He is working on another
variation of the QUEEN'S PUZZLE - a dissected checkerboard
with a "tower" on each piece to be put together so that no
tower are in line.
(cont. from 3/23) [3/23]
I asked if, since he is going to Felicia to look at games, he
would like to see mine. Arranged to bring FREE FORM to Felicia's
tomorrow.
The Algonquin Hotel will be his headquarters when he is in New York.
I reminded him that he had promised to send me a blue and yellow
set of CUBE FUSION. Also asked for GUARD, AWKWORD and DOUBLE CROSS.
(He said he'd send the whole set of record games.)
He thinks that puzzles have passed their peak - PHONY BALONY &
PLUG-A-JUG didn't move. (I told him that the latter was not a
puzzle.) BEAT THE ELF and KOLOR KRAZE are his. He licensed them
to Schisgall but they didn't go anywhere. He has taken them back
and is putting them out himself.
What he is interested in is dimensional things like
CUBE FUZION, but even moreso.
Rcd. a copy of MASTERPIECE from Parker Brothers (from Randy Barton).
Felicia called. Al and Adela Richter were there. She likes QUADRUME
and TUMBLE COLORS. Also thinks that TRY-ANGLES might be good
for Mary Hilt.
She wanted to know which of Connor's games had a similarity
to CRETE and I told her - ORBIT.
Told her that Alfons called me and that I'd bring FREE FORM in
tomorrow. She said that I-S would have to get their cut and I
said "of course".
Familiarized myself with FREE FORM. Also looked at
OVER 'N OVER and decided to bring that also.
Jim Dunnigan called to give me the new address of the
skunk works. The telephone number is the same as before.
