FRIDAY 12 MARCH 1971
71st day - 294 days to come
While fooling around with a gadget Felicia once brought us
I thought of a game idea - possible name
PRATFALL. The gadget is a wooden figure on feet with
a spring mounted inside. When it is pushed down a flat
wood piece projects from the head. When released it
jumps into the air, the further down the pushing the
higher the jump. I placed lines on the wood pieces with
the following values 1-5-10-25-50. Players in turn
take the figure and push it down to any line they wish
and then release it. If it falls over their turn is done.
If it stands upright they score the value of the line they
used. They can continue, but if the figure falls they
lose all their score in this turn.
Played around with it quite a bit, including when
Paul & Edith Slotkin came over. Have to put two fin-
ger holds on the bottom so that players cannot cheat by
holding it higher and easing the upward movement.
(cont. from 1/18) [3/10]
Told Felicia that I had given Mary the wording from
the 3M contract. She said that was a good idea. She thanked
me for telling her about the problem in the contract.
Before I called her Felicia had called Mary. She got the im-
pression that TEMPO, etc. were being dropped. I think
that what Mary meant is the peg puzzles, rather than the
peg games, or at least that is what she told me.
Felicia warned me to watch out for Dynamic Enterprises. They are
probably going to be removed from handling
WHO CAN BEAT NIXON? They only were given two
(true) and probably won't get any more.
We discussed whether I should work on CINEMA and NOMINATION
first or the Coca Cola GAME. Decided that, tho she still
wants the latter, I'll work on the others first.
At our meeting with Mary, she asked what the status of
FOCUS was at Whitman. If we ever get it back she'd
love to do it.
Ken Morgan called. He'd like to get together to talk, but
wouldn't tell me specifically what he has in mind. Told
him that I'd probably be in town next Friday (3/26) and
I'll call him Thursday. He'll take me to lunch.
I asked about getting a copy of MOVIE MOGULS. He only
has one, and he has to give that to "Mr. Tower" of F.A.O.
Schwartz, Brentano's will be displaying the game in
two windows, uptown & downtown.
