FRIDAY 5 MARCH 1971
Ember Day 64th day - 301 days to come
Statement of 1970 earnings came from Random House, for
AGOG.
Tried to find a record of my last talk with Pete
Swift on TABLERO DE JESUS and when I promised
to have the rules ready. Also the number of
coins he would use. (I believe it was 2-4s and 8-1s.)
Couldn't find the entry in diary.
Time Magazine had the ad for BOUNDARY. (Filed
in '71 Ad Clips.)
Brought WILD WOOD PILE to the Laurence's. 4 of them were
fighting to try it. No one solved it but they want
a set to keep trying.
(cont. from 3/4) [3/4]
(They have a verbal deal with Stancraft if they can
agree on the contract. Childcraft is also interested.)
TRICKY TRACK - a variant of OFF COURSE (see '70).
[Drawing of a 11x5 grid with the middle row having "ABDEC" written in the boxes, numbers 1-6 written on the outside of the grid at every other box. Additional drawing of 6 boxes with divisions at different corners, horizontally, and vertically, all boxes having an arrow pointing up on each.]
Each player
has 4 sets
of pcs., as
shown, in his
color, making 24. These are turned face down
and shuffled and then placed face up,
each player using one 5x5 area with the
center (I believe) left blank. The arrow
is used for orienting the pcs.
The five letters in the center are loose and
are placed at random on the five spaces.
A die is thrown to give a number. Object
is to form a chain from A to the number thrown.
Then from B to a new number, etc.
Players in turn move a pc., or more than one in a
straight line, filling the empty space. When a player
completes a path he takes the letter. Most letters wins.
(Epoch, the Japanese company who put out SPOTS or
THE !@#C&*! GAME can supply complete games at $17 a
dozen. Parker and 3M are each interested.) (Tom will send
me rules.)
COLLISION COURSE - an improvement of SEE HOW THEY RUN
(see '70). A race game using dice. Board has a pattern of
intersecting and forking paths. (Tom will send me rules.)
THE MOEBIES - A series of 6 (or possibly it was 7) odd
shaped pcs. Starting with the smallest, each contains the
earlier with additional area. Each has a hole. The board
has holes, more than 6 (but I don't remember how many).
(cont. on 3/6)
