SATURDAY 30 JANUARY 1971
30th day - 335 days to come
Rcd. the rough SLEUTH rules from Jim Kraus. Wrote a
letter to him with a few suggested improvements. Also
asked him if he has rcd. my comments on
THINKING MAN'S BASKETBALL.
Rcd. the 3M statement of 1970 earnings - $14,141.01.
Rcd. a letter from Mary Hilt. She has the contract
for TRANSFORMATION on her desk and I'll be getting it
soon. Also one will be coming for AIRLINE.
She is not sure if she'll be in NY for Toy Fair.
Rcd. THE GAMESLETTER (#24 - Jan '71). Also a penciled
note that Don rcd. my article and that he'll write
soon.
Showed Helen Sternberg how to play COMBINATION.
(cont. from 2/23) [2/25]
representing Coke bottles, other bottles, and cans. Can either
return them for money or put them in garbage can. Latter
faster, but can be knocked over. First to get rid of all
bottles and cans gets points. Money rcd. also counts as points.
Felicia liked the idea.
To Pressman and met Gini Scott. She introduced me to
[bracket] Dr. Howard Wexler
160 West End Ave.
NY, NY 10023
799-7454
He is a PHD in psychology who (he said) turned down a dean-
ship @ Fordham to take the job as psychologist in residence at
Pressman.
He gave me a copy of HI SPOT.
He gave me a copy of their 1971 catalog. It contains:-
CHECK-POINT - Gini's which is in the catalog but will only be pub-
lished if it gets in mail order catalog.
BRAIN STORM - This is something like JOTTO, but with shapes and
colors. Didn't have Howard tell me about it since there is a very
distant resemblance to SLEUTH.
DOUBLE DECKER, a straight knock-off of CUBE FUSION, and they
didn't deny it. Howard had nothing to with it.
OH FUDGE - A game Gini made up when they asked her to do something
on a candy box. (See catalog for picture) Under the 4x4 array
of chocolate pcs. Put "fillings" of 4 colors in a random arrang-
ement. Periodically the board is turned 90[degrees] to make it harder to
remember the position. A card game similar to HEARTS is played and
the winner gets a chance to take a candy. Some colors wroth more
