WEDNESDAY 20 JANUARY 1971
20th day - 345 days to come
[see 1/19 for mailings at Post Office.]
Rcd. a package with the game TAKE FIVE and the puzzle
TASMANIA from Frank Armbruster.
Doing some reading about MANCALA games.
Rcd. January TOYS. New products showed
GAME OF GHOST (Lakeside). Also BLACK OUT (Crisloid).
Started a set of pieces for the presentation model of LIVE WIRE.
(cont. from 1/21) [1/21]
pcs., incidentally, are called "Zecs."
We played a game and it worked down to 2 crowned
Zecs for me and one for him. The game couldn't be brought
to a conclusion. I told Felicia that the game was
"eclectic" and altho it played well enough, it had very little
that was original in it. She told Rael (who paid for sand-
wiches for us) to fix up the rules, the model, and if possible
the ending, and then she would show it after TOY FAIR.
After Rael left we discussed what to do about INDIAN CHESS.
She called Mr. Wei and told him. He said that he had
never been on the China mainland. His family had played
a similar game, but with a square layout, instead of a
round. He was upset and said that whatever Felicia decided
was OK with him. She made a repro to send to him.
At my suggestion Felicia called Jim Goldsberry at X and
told him about TURTLE CAGE and INDIAN CHESS. He wasn't dis-
turbed and said his lawyers would look at it. In any case
we are entitled to a finder's fee.
Felicia mentioned what Bob Edwards had said about some
big news next month. Jim said that you can say that's so.
Also he said that it's now or never.
Rcd. a copy of the game LAWSUIT and a letter. It is played
very much like TOURING and MILLE BORNES.
Rcd. a flyer for the game BUGS & LOOPS.
(cont. from 1/22) [2/25]
meetings. She would like to get someone else to run IDEAS
since it is very time consuming. She also would like to get e-
nough games and puzzles going so that she could live on the royalties and then leave games for other things, photography,
copywriting, etc.
She is changing the name of her game to THE LIB GAME
since Urban Systems trademarked WOMEN'S LIB. Every-
