WEDNESDAY 6 JANUARY 1971
Feast of the Epiphany 6th day - 359 days to come
Rcd. a nice letter from Paul Greenough. He exhibited his
CHESS sets and oriental games at his library, also
AGOG. The librarian is ordering a copy.
He said that NOST-ALGIA published an article and
two games by him in 1970. Looked thru my copies and
couldn't find them.
Rcd. a letter from [bracket] Walter D. Coffey
4111 Montgomery St. (Apt. D)
Oakland, Cal. 94611
He likes AGOG, also ACQUIRE. Had some questions
on latter. He is interested in compiling a list of
game reviews for possible paperback publication. Wants
to know if my editor would be interested in looking at
a sample chapter or two.
Rcd. the Dec. 27, 1970 copy of GRIT, from Marvin Katz. It
is a good article with two pictures, one showing TEMPO
being played, the other featuring the VENTURE cover.
Called Marvin to thank him and tell him how good the
article is. He told me that he thinks that ACQUIRE is the
best of all the financial games. He is also interested
in getting a copy of BAZAR. All he's kept of the 3M
games he was given are ACQUIRE & FEUDAL. I told
him about PLOY.
Called Tom Nelson to tell him about the GRIT article.
He had rcd. a repro from Marvin Katz.
Asked him if he knew how the Stancraft line was
doing. No, but he hasn't heard any word of stopping
publicity on the games. He is still trying to arrange
TV and radio with Hank Simmons & me; possibly Toy
Fair would be a good time.
He had a friend (female) who had done some
GAMEs and was interested in an agent. I gave him Tom
Atwater's address, explaining that I had two agents and
since this request came thru Stancraft I was giving him
this agent. He volunteered not to mention my name, but I
said it was all right to use it to Tom Atwater.
Called Jack Davis. He was busy and was to call back. Didn't. Told
me that he had rc'd. only a repro from GRIT.
Felicia called. She wasn't sure whether she had sent
LIVE WIRE to X. Told her I was still working on it. She
said that she had sent a letter to X saying it was great
and also asking about TOTALLY and TROMINO GO. She sent
it before X'Mas but still hasn't had an answer. So there is
no hurry to get LIVE WIRE finished.
I told her about the GRIT article, including the TEMPO pic-
ture. She didn't seem to be annoyed.
