TUESDAY 5 JANUARY 1971
5th day - 360 days to come
Called John Letheren of "Publishers Marketing Group. Told him
of my call of yesterday. They do not have any dis-
tribution of EXTINCTION in the Washington area. So
for they have sold mainly in colleges and some to
high schools. Thanks to my article Brentanos in Chi-
cago took 6 dozen.
The best way for Mr. Palins to get a copy is by send-
ing $11.95 to Stamford, the location of the manufac-
turer - Sinauer Associates.
Letheren mentioned that the game is put together in
this country by the handicapped, which brings the
price up.
At Wanamaker's in Cross County saw that they had
2 copies of AGOG. Also they didn't have too many
of the 3M games left; only 1 ACQUIRE I believe.
At McHugh's bought CHESSERS for $2.84 and an
extra copy of KIMBO for $1.50.
Rcd. a letter from [bracket] Judy Ann Bennett
300 South 8th
Poplar Bluff, MO. 63901
She saw the article on me in GRIT. She wants some
ideas on hobbies and other ways of other solitary activities.
At McHugh's asked how the 3M Gamettes are moving.
He told me that they are selling, but not nearly
as good as the Bookshelf.
Saw 3RD DIMANSIONAL CHECKERS (Cardinal). A checker-
board is provided with each ring raised in tiers.
Rules are given for regular CHECKERS.
A variation where kings brought to the
center two spaces are given a third
checker. They can move laterally to the
next red space. They can only capture,
however, in a diagonal direction and
can only capture kings or superkings.
They can only be captured by a
king or super king.
In another variation the pieces are
set up as shown. All are kings. A piece in the venter
is safe from capture. (Not sure of all the details
of the two variations since the rules were not very clear.)
At Cross County bought 6 sheets of the light white
cardboard.
