tioned my new rules and he said to send them to Jim Kraus
who is in charge of the new packaging. Also my comments on
the black background.
I described PLANES to him. He told me about EVADE.
Each player has two pcs. which are marked in some way with
magnets, unknown to the other player. Object is to move,
by king's move, one of them across the board, avoiding a re-
placement capture. (Rough idea.) Also SPEED CIRCUIT. Each
player can set up his own racing car, getting some advan-
tages, such as speed, braking, etc., at the expense of oth-
ers. (Very rough idea.) Both of these games were created by a
minister.
A.H.: Talked to Tom Shaw. He told me about a writer
[bracket] Richard Carter
165 Pinesbridge Road
Ossining, N.Y. 10562
(914) 941-6522
He is working on what he intends to
be the most complete "Hoyle" even-
for Simon & Schuster. he asked A.H.
for catalogs and which games are
"classics." Tom mentioned my book
to him and he said he knew it.
Jim Dunnigan probably has a copy of LUFTWAFFE for me. If
not Tom will send me one.
Tom will remind Jim about publishing Tom's letter on
THE STOCK MARKET GAME. If Jim won't I'll put it in my column.
Dave Levine (from skunk works - altho he no longer is offic-
ally with S&T) was there. He said he really liked my reviews.
He wanted to get a copy of EXTINCTION and I told him the
only place would be to write to the manufacturer.
"Dynamic Design." New ones were WINE CELLAR (lots of interest in
this I was told); THE FAMILY; SOCIETY TODAY. Will give me copies tomorrow.
Gave the fellow my S&T and BOOK WORLD columns with THE CITIES GAME.
Met Frank Armbruster and told him about my relationship with
Felicia and that I'll give her 10% of anything I get from him.
Called Claude and apologized for not thinking of the natural tie-
in between Frank Armbruster and GENIUS BLOCKS. He said there
were probably a dozen of my own things I forgot to mention
to Frank.
He already told Felicia he had a spot for GENIUS BLOCKS
and it was fine with her. Later in the conversation he mentioned
Frank Armbruster.
I told him that I'd give Felicia 10% of my Armbruster earnings,
but he didn't feel a similar obligation.
We'll wait with telling the Amberstones about Armbruster.
We'll meet tomorrow at the stationery show.
Played POTENTIAL with BB. It seemed rather one-sided.
Thinking of playing the same starting position twice,
reversing the positions.
