WEDNESDAY 30 DECEMBER 1970
364th day - 1 day to come
Bob Abel, who had the piece on games in CAVALIER Magazine in 1968, called. He saw AGOG and would like to do another piece on me. Doesn't know for what market exactly, but he'll let his agent take care of that. Made a date to go to lunch next Monday. I'll call him at work (he is now with Dell) to set the time.
{Bob Abel
{SC4-1168 (Home telephone)
{YU6-6300 (Work) 750 3rd Ave. - 7th Fl.
He has a neighbor - Barbara Fischer - who is connected with someone who made up a game, who would like to get an opinion on the game and what to do with it. Would I be willing to take a look at it? Yes.
Barbara called me. The man's name is "Sergio Mahaldi" and he works in has a PHD in Sociology. His game is GAME is not really a game. There is a large board with sets of dials with information on different subjects from a male and female point of view (I believe). Each pair is set with a choice from a fellow and a girl. There is then a readout on their compatability for that subject. Etc.
I told her that it wasn't really in my field, but she'd still like me to look at it. We'll get together next Monday when Sergio is coming in from Paris.
Went over the rules for THINKING MAN'S BASKETBALL quite carefully and wrote to Jim Kraus with my comments. Also thanked him for sending me the SLEUTH samples and mentioned the blue-green possibility of confusion, which Felicia already wrote about.
Took a clipping from MCCALL'S Magazine with picture of TRIANGULATIONS, a puzzle being sold at the "Museum of Modern Art." (Filed in 1970 Ad Clips Folder)
Claude called to invite us tonight. Made it for next Thursday instead.
