MONDAY 14 DECEMBER 1970
348th DAY - 17 days to come
Made the base and packaged the equipment for MANHATTAN MADNESS [red dot]. Working a little on the game. A variation would be to make all the [crossed out, illegible] towers line up at one end, instead of allowed them to be staggered.
Played some games of LIVE WIRE [red dot] with BB. Decided to make new "Powers" with two arms instead of 4. Tried it with BB. She didn't like it as much, and I wasn't sure.
Felicia [red dot] called. Appointment tomorrow at 10:30 with Rudy Lopez [red dot] to show him my version of LIVE WIRE [red dot]. Allan Turoff [red dot] wants to discuss my working with him on mind expanding GAME[red dot]s. He'll be there at 11:15. (Felicia reminded me that she is getting 35% from him.) Another inventor called up with a GAME [red dot] using pegs on 4 boards, which he insists is original. He'll be there at 12 so that I can see his game.
I didn't get a call from Carl Eisenberg [red dot] so I called him about [possibly the number 4, unsure]. He hasn't seen Gund yet but hopes to today. He'll call me Wednesday morning. Told him that I had the equipment ready, but not the rules yet.
Claude [red dot] called. Would like to get together this week. Told him that I just couldn't manage it this week.
Rcd. [received] a holiday card from [crossed out, illegible] Felicia [red dot].
(cont. from 12/15) [begin red] [12/15] [end red]
fered [full word is 'offered' from previous page] me and Felicia cuts of it if they take it. We both declined with thanks.
Allan Turoff [red dot] there to discuss his ideas for a series of mind expanding GAME[red dot]s. He had one idea he called GUESSTIMATE [red dot]. Two pointed pcs. [pieces] of plastic are placed on a table. A player guesses how far they are apart. Then they are measured. The guessed distance and the actual are entered on a circular "sliderule" which gives a score. Allan realized that there just wasn't enough in the way of play value. He thought that possibly betting by the other players depending on how well they thought the guesser did would add something.
I said that this was not my kind of thing but he suggested, and I agreed, to get together sometime next month and talk about it some more.
The psychiatrist, incidentally, was of no help to him and he does not have to be cut in.
"Walter York-Koenigstein" [red dot] (the one Felicia said had a GAME [red dot] using pegs on 4 boards) there. Actually it was a manipulative puzzle. A cup has an oppening going [as written].
