SATURDAY 12 DECEMBER 1970
346th day - 19 days to come
Working on the towers for MANHATTAN MADNESS [red dot].
Watched the 3M Bookshelf' ad on the Mary Tyler Moore show. It [illegible word crossed out] ran about 15 seconds. It showed a line of 3M games;
STOCKS AND BONDS [red dot] was out and facing, then FACTS IN FIVE [red dot] was taken out, Morris Bendick called later to say he had seen ACQUIRE [red dot] clearly on the end of one of the games.
(cont. from 12/17) [begin red] [12/18] [end red]
Saw Zubrin [red dot] and thanked him for the patent numbers. Took the following material; 4 copies of S&T [Strategy and Tactics] [red dot] #24. S&T SUPPLEMENT [red dot] #2, 3, 4, & 5. #2 had that old material from Jared Johnson on [there is a red dot after every game title here] CAMELOT, JUMPIN, BREAKTHRU, TWIXT, PHLOUNDER, ON-WAH-REE, ACQUIRE, QUINTO, HIGH BID, STOCKS AND BONDS, WFF 'N PROOF, DOGFIGHT, HIT THE BEACH, AMERICAN HERITAGE CIVIL WAR, BROADSIDE, SUMMIT, STRATEGO.
Also took BATTLE OF BRITAIN Revision, FLYING FORTRESS 2, KOREA, 12 O'CLOCK HIGH, FLYING TIGERS.
Asked about BATTLE OF BRITAN II of which I had the cards & board. Noone had heard of it.
STALINGRAD III [red dot] is the only other test-series game presently produced. They were out and I'll get it next time.
In the morning I checked my test-series games and had the following: [there is a red dot after every game title here] TACTICAL GAME 3, FLYING FORTRESS, 1918, 1914 Revision, NORMANDY, DEPLOYMENT, ITALY, BARBAROSSA, TANNENBURG, LIEPZIG, LUFTWAFFE.
At "Childcraft" saw NIMBLE NUMBERS (Skor-Mor). It is played
the same as TURN-TAC-TOE (See 8/9) except that the
holes have numbers on them and players score for a
sequence of 3 (not necessarily in order), a triple, or
a pair (either side may score a pair). All of these score
the sum of the numbers involved.
Thinking of ideas for GO SEE for "Continental Airlines".
Have a number of cards from for each city with varying
numbers of points. These are put on at random with
all points showing. Player visiting the city takes the
top card. Also thinking of ideas for eliminating the
spinner.
BB sent greeting cards to Phil Orbanes & Felicia.
[started 12/18] [arrow points up and down]
At the meeting Carl asked if i would put first refusal
rights on my next puzzle in our contract. I said "no"
and he said he didn't think I'd agree, but no harm trying.
