336th day - 29 days to come
Pete Swift called. In playing TABLERO DE JESÚS with his 13 yr. old son he found that the son always went ahead, covering whenever he could, and won 2 out of 3 times. Pete wanted to change the balance so that this wouldn't happen. He suggested a one chip penalty paid to the opponent each time the player threw the dice and he had an unpurged wager. I suggested a penalty each time a double is thrown and amounting to one chip for each time the player wagered. I also suggested that a player on completing a line of 7 not be allowed to continue. Pete asked what would be the incentive to go from 6 to 7 then. Later I thought of adding a throw of 12 and possibly 11 to the "diablo" throw of 7.
I called John Ward see 11/12 & 11/13. He was having difficulties over furniture missing from his office. He said he'd call me back, but didn't.
Called Felicia. She had an advertising schedule from "3M." The sports games and the puzzles seemed to get the greater coverage. The best one for me was an ad for MONAD, ACQUIRE, and THINKING MAN'S FOOTBALL in the November (I believe) Harpers, Atlantic, and Smithsonian Magazines. Also in the Nov. 23rd NEW YORK Magazine. Looked for it and found two copies - one I'll give to Felicia. On TV the Bookshelf line was on Julia on 12/1 and will be on the Mary Tyler Moore Show on 12/12. She said that Jerry Green had called her and told her they had played 100 games and that there was something wrong with FREE FORM. He was supposed to call me and tell me about it, but apparantly didn't get around to it. Felicia wanted me to call him. She has a space GAME she intends to show to Jerry and would like to me to see it. No date set. She'll try to contact Dorothy Shapiro & set up a luncheon date for the 3 of us.
Called "The Puzzle Factory" and Jerry Green said that the games of FREE FORM they played in 96 out of 100 games ended much to quickly. I told him that that hadn't been my experience but that I would like to play with him sometime. He has pretty much decided not to use this game. He is waiting to return the equipt. to Felicia in person rather than take a chance of it being lost. I agreed. He would like to take a look at my other games. Right now he is caught in the X'mas rush. Would like to come here early next year. Played FREE FORM with BB and Dale. Unless players are careful the game is over quickly. Decided to eliminate the rule
