MONDAY 23 NOVEMBER 1970
327th day - 38 days to come
Rcd. a thank you letter from Warren Buell.
Rcd. 3 issues of INTERNATIONAL WARGAMER and
THE INTERNATIONAL WARGAMER SUPPLEMENT. Also 9
copy of "The International Federation of Wargaming
Constitution."
Aug. 1970 (Vol. 3, No. 8) - includes an article on ASSASSIN
by Alister Macintyre.
Sept. 1970 (Vol. 3, No. 9) - includes an ad for a new war game,
SICILY.
Oct. 1970 (Vol. 3, No. 10) - includes a review of 1918.
Thought of the name OVER 'N OVER for my turning over
GAME and PUZZLE.
Made a set of pieces by gluing yellow chips to green
chips.
The POST had an article on games. Included
THE PUZZLE OF LIFE, DOUBLE PUZZLE, BLACKS AND WHITES,
THE CITIES GAME, CLASS, SMOG, DIRTY WATER,
(Jerry's) THE HOOKER, (Phil's) AQUARIUS 2000.
(cont. from 12/9) [12/9]
it probably would fit best as an "Ed-U-Playtional" if
that line was being continued. He agreed, but it's
not.
Called Eve Anchincloss of BOOK WORLD. The article is out al-
ready and she will send me 12. She thought it was
quite interesting. She didn't read the original but thinks
it may have been cut in editing. She hopes I won't
be upset. We discussed making it a yearly feature.
If I don't hear from her by the beginning of October
next year I'm to call her.
In LIVE WIRE a player could ruin the game by pulling
back all his pieces and line them up in a solid
wall. Thought of a rule prohibiting having more than
4 of them in any one row.
In the "Post" "Bloomingdale's" had an ad for
THINKING MAN'S FOOTBALL, FACTS IN FIVE, & MONAD. They
goofed on the latter saying - "Monad is a fascinating
game of skill which requires advance planning as players attempt
to buy, sell, and trade their way to the top." (Filed in 1970 Ad
Clips.)
(Cont. on 11/22)
