SUNDAY 22 NOVEMBER 1970
Sunday next before Advent 326th day - 39 days to come
Made 6 identification discs for PLANES.
"Brentano's" had a supplement in the Sunday Times.
Included were ACQUIRE, FEUDAL, MADMAZE, PLOY, SMOG,
DIRTY WATER, COMPUTAMATIC FOOTBALL, SOLOS, DIPLOMACY,
JOTTO, BRIDGE-IT, CLASS, SOMA, 3D TIC-TAC-TOE,
BRIDGETTE, 8 BLOCKS TO MADNESS, BRIDGEVERYONE, ZONAL CHESS,
QUERIES N' THEORIES, SPACE CHESS, QUADS, NITTY GRITTY.
(Filed in 1970 Ad Clips.)
Also in Times "Gimbels" had an ad for 6 3M games,
including REGATTA and BAZAAR. (Filed in 1970 Ad Clips.)
In mail order section Times had an ad for GABRIELLA
(A computer kit). It plays MINI-CHECKERS (which looks
like the game the computer played at Expo '67).
(Filed in 1970 Ad Clips).
Felicia called in evening. Told me how hard she worked
to get Dorothy Shapiro to include ACQUIRE in their ad.
She also started to tell me of some trouble with
Steve Barkoczy but when I told her I had company
she said she'd tell me later.
Arthur, Wald, and Wald's son Jefferey here for afternoon and
supper.
Played three hand PLANES and they liked it. To my original
rules I added one that a player cannot take a trick un-
less 3 pieces are left on the field after removal of
the trick. Also each player has two pcs., face up.
We played once thru the tiles, and think that twice
would be a good length for the game.
Arthur & Wald played BYZANTIUM and liked it.
Wald and I played the turning over GAME. Not too
much comment from him, other than that he didn't
know exactly what he was doing.
After the company left played the turning over
GAME with BB and then several games by my-
self.
(cont. from 11/23) [12/19]
Called Jim Dunnigan. Issue #24 of S&T is now being mailed.
My column was spread on 3 pages. If my column for #25 is ready by Friday of next week it will be in plenty
of time.
They are trying to work to a 40 day schedule until
they are caught up.
Vidmer hasn't don much yet in increasing the circu-
lation. Says he'll get on it after X'Mas.
