WEDNESDAY 18 NOVEMBER 1970
322nd day - 43 days to come
2 calls from Felicia, including the following:
She wants me to get the rules of FREE FORM to Jerry
as soon as possible. If they fool around with the equi-
pment themselves they might come up with some-
thing that they feel is different enough not to have
to pay royalties.
She also thinks I should put off their visit to my
game room to show them other games until we get an
answer on FREE FORM, affirmative that is.
She spoke to Bob Edwards (he sends his wishes for
my recovery) and he wants to see TROMINO GO and
TOTALLY--. Yesterday I noticed that the TOTALLY--
rules that I brought with me did not include the
bonus for having the highest score on a round. I
wanted to have BB type a new set but Felicia was
in a hurry to get it to Bob and I dictated the par-
agraph to her and she'll add it.
Bob says they are getting floods of games sub-
mitted to them, and he doesn't know how other com-
panies cope with it.
She again mentioned that she wanted to ask for more
money for PROFIT and I said how much would it a-
mount to, even if they doubled the usual closing
fee. She said she could use it, regardless.
I brought up the matter of wanting to talk to Keith Tuggle
about the outstanding problems on ACQUIRE and
EXECUTIVE DECISION, meaning that if she was talking
to someone there she would suggest his calling me
she said that she wasn't directly involved in this and
that I should call Keith. I said that I didn't
want a $20 telephone bill and she said how about
my disinterest in more money for PROFIT (touche).
I said I'd write to Keith.
Tom Atwater called to say that he rcd. the "Stancraft"
report. Very disappointing $120 (about) for
ODD OR EVEN, TEMPO, and INTERPLAY (in that order).
Alex royalty for DOZO and CASTILE was about
$80, tho they just started shipping the former.
He is writing them to ask if there is some mistake.
In the meantime he doesn't think I should sign con-
tracts for AIRLINE and [crossover] TRANSFORMATION
until we get some explanations.
Hank Simmons told him about "Hallmark" and he has
been in touch with Jim Goldsberry [crossout]. I told
him that I knew about it for some time but that
I was sworn to secrecy. Told him that I had 9
contracts with them, but that I didn't expect
them to come out with all of them that they are
optioning a lot of games with the idea of picking
