TUESDAY 17 NOVEMBER 1970
321st day - 44 days to come
Called Bob Hallowell to tell him that I red, the NINE OF SWORDS
drawings yesterday and they were O.K. Asked him if he
wanted them back and he did. Had BB drop them off later
in the day.
To Felicia's with BB, bringing TROMINO GO, TOTALLY- -
PAYOFF, FREE FORM, the rules for THE INFERNAL BINARY MACHINE and the FITTING AND PROPER contracts .
I thought that I had the original model of GO SEE here,
but when I looked I found that I had a rough layout
by Impact, their changed version.
Jerry Green & Pat (don't remember her second name) of
"The Puzzle Factory" there when we got there. (BB left to come
back in the afternoon - bought 4 yards of contact for me.)
Discussed the matter of royalties first. They preferred not to
pay them and would rather pay a flat amount. Felicia
said that a flat fee would be in the neighborhood of $25,000.
Jerry said that didn't really leave them any choice. He also
asked if royalties really went to that amount. I said that they
definitely do.
Showed them FREE FORM, TOTALLY --, TROMINO GO, PAY OFF
(they didn't look at this since they think that party
games have passed their peak), TANGLED WEB, DATA, and
MAVERICK COUNTRY They liked FREE FORM and took it
to try for a week, TANGLED WEB interested Jerry, who
thought it could be another INSTANT INSANITY but Pat
said it is really out of their line.
Felicia showed them Claude's GENIUS BLOCKS to please
me. They didn't want anything to do with cubes.
Felicia took us all out to lunch at "Fils".
Jerry & Pat in a year have begun to give "Springbok" a lot of
competition with a line of two sided jig-saw puzzles. They
are set up for printing on a board and would really like
some traditional "board" games. I asked Pat it they
would be interested in a financial game and she said
"Yes, if it is different and good.
They would like to come visit and see my game room
and whatever I have on hand, but we didn't set a
definite date.
Whatever they do take, they are sure that they can
have it ready for Toy Fair."
After they left : - Felicia and I signed the contract
for FITTING & PROPER.
Gave Felicia back the rules for
THE INFERNAL BINARY MACHINE "3M” wants to see it but
the model seems to be lost in the mail. The inventor
is having it traced.
I mentioned that I didn't have the model of
GO SEE and Felicia said that "Impact" must have it. She
heard from them lately and it still looks good for
