SATURDAY 7 NOVEMBER 1970
311th day - 54 days to come
Started working on S & T column. Did intro & THE CITIES GAME.
Phil & Annette Laurence here in evening. Gave them copies
of TAM-BIT and TAKE FIVE they forgot last time they were here.
(cont. from 11/15) [11/18]
me a copy of PANZERBLITZ for review. He was unhappy
about my remarks on Speculative Stock in my review of
THE STOCK MARKET GAME, but he still thanked me for it.
Rcd. a letter from Jim Kraus. It is up to me whether
I want to answer the complaint letters on MONAD. He
is looking forward to seeing what I come up with
on his game idea PLANES but next April is soon enough.
He would appreciate my comments on
THINKING MAN'S BASKETBALL by Jan. 1. (He wished me a
speedy recovery.)
Made another two sets of pieces for FREE FORM.
[Started 11/18]
(cont. from 11/19) [11/19]
a value of 2 to 10. He liked it better this way
but I found it more confining. Possibly the different
pictures can be given different values.
We played just the two of us. Could more play?
Played FREE FORM with my rough set and after a
couple of games he grew to like it.
Claude had his queen's PUZZLE. It consists of 10
transparent overlays each [illegible crossed out] having a circle
in an implied position on a 10 x 10 board. Each
circle has black lines in the 8 directions a queen
could move in CHESS from that position. Object
is to pile all 10 so that no circle is crossed with
a line. I did 9 but couldn't do the entire 10.
Clade borrowed my book - SERIOUS GAMES by Abt.
