Letter from Herb Siegel thanking me [illegible crossed out] for AGOG.
He is looking forward to an early spring visit.
Also sent a lot of stickers of various kings kinds.
Felicia called. Finally got her report and check from
3M. It was slightly more than last year, but only
because of the addition of foreign sales.
Bob Hallowell called and then came up with his model
of EXCALIBUR and drawings of the new setup.
Also copies of the contract. He thinks that the name
might by NINE OF SWORDS, after seeing that Tarot card.
He will use the name "Excalibur" as a code word to indicate
the order for the solution, using one letter on each sword. He left
the model and the drawings for me to check the drawings.
After he left I looked at the contract and I was responsible
if he is sued by anyone. Called him and he had his lawyer
(Andy Davis WO 2-1111) call me. We discussed the possibility
of the contract being signed with Infinity - Quest Corp.
I called Phil Orbanes. He didn't want to sign the contract
and didn't blame me for not wanting to. He suggested and
I called Bob again and told him that couldn't sign. A little
later Phil called and said that Bob called him and they found
a solution. The contract will be signed with Operations Design
Corp" which Phil has kept up, even tho it has no more purpose,
or assets. I agreed, and the royalty will be sent to me from the Corp.
Went thru the drawings, using the model to help. Found it
O.K. except for the last sword.
Rcd. another call from Felicia. She was in touch with Jerry
Green of "The Puzzle Factory" He and his partner will meet
with Felicia and me on 11/17 at the office.
Felicia told him of the English game OLYMPICS, and also
that she didn't think there was much interest in the subject
He agreed at once to drop it. She thinks he will be pleasant to work with.
Filled out a card to send for å brochure on DODECA (see 11/1).
Rcd. another copy of EXTINCTION, mailed from BOOK WORLD.
BB typed somewhat move than half of THE INFERENAL BINARY MACHINE.
Gini Scott came up in the conversation with Bob Hallowell. The game
GANG TANGLE that he is putting out consists of a series of
colored ropes. Couples tie ends of a rope around their waists (or wrists, or ankles) and first couple to get themselves thee from
the tangle wins. He told me in strictest confidence. It is such
a basic idea, and he thinks it will sell a million.
