TUESDAY 3 NOVEMBER 1970
Election Day 307th day - 58 days to come
Rcd. 3 copies of BOOK WORLD from Eve Auchincloss.
Rcd. Oct. PLAYTHINGS. Had CARAPACE in new products.
Read over rules for THINKING MAN'S BASKETBALL. Made
some notes of difficulties, to send to Jim
Kraus.
Called Arthur. Tentative [crossout] date for afternoon of
11/21 (3 to 9 p.m.). May have something new to show
me by then.
(cont. from 11/2) [11/2]
we develop from their suggestions. Felicia thinks we
may get as much as $10,000 for a game and she suggested
a 65-35 split. I put in an objection but we left it open
to see what develops. We may also charge them for consulta-
tions when we all get together, which we will split down the
middle.
She also will try to interest the in games & puzzles already
made. She has my SPELLBINDER, DATA, TANGLED WEB, and
possibly some others. I also suggested PAYOFF,
GO SEE and FREE FORM if I can get a model ready in
time.
Felicia will call him on Wednesday to set up a date for
week after next, when I'll be able to travel downtown.
I told her that there was an English game called
OLYMPICS which (I looked up later) was put out by
"Simplay Products."
Called Jim Dunnigan. He has my column for #23, in fact
a copy is on the way to me. Al Nofi must have
meant S&T #24 & #25.
Told Jim I was feeling weak and how long could
they wait. He says they have all the rest for the issue
and would like mine as soon as possible. I'll try to
have it ready by Sunday. He'll call in the evening. He
said if I couldn't manage to write much Red will blow
up the pictures.
Jim said that the COMBINATION column was rated par-
ticularly badly. I offered to quit but he said he
definitely wants to keep my column. As they increase
the circulation it will have to be among readers who
like a broader spectrum of games.
I asked him about Don Miller's request to use COMBINATION
and TROMINO GO in THE GAMESMAN. OK if he gives
credit. Jim pointed out that the 12% of S&T readers
who liked COMBINATION was still more than Don's
