FRIDAY 16 OCTOBER 1970
U.S. Mint Established 1786 289th day - 76 days to come
Felicia called. Had a letter from Bob Edwards. They are sending
option contracts for INDIAN CHESS (I got 25% of his royalty).
TRIAGO (which Bob misspelled TRICKAGO), TRIP,
and COUNTER INTELLIGENCE.
He asked where is LIVE WIRE. Suddenly 2 play strategy games
are high on their priority list.
He saw FITTING & PROPER and liked what he saw. It is a tough
one! The necessity of having it ready for the market by next
May doesn't help. Felicia and I decided to stick by our dead-
lines. She hears from "Rappaport's" that the 3M puzzles, JAITI
& HECTIX are doing very well, and we can try them.
I asked her about WHAT'S IT WORTH TO YOU? and she'll ask in
her letter.
They are returning all of Steve Barkoczy's 8 cube PUZZLEs.
They are just INSTANT INSANITY with twice as many cubes.
She is seeing a doctor with a card GAME which Longo of
S&R said is innovative. I'll call later in the afternoon to
find out.
BALI rcd. 1/2 the royalties it got for this period last year.
But a lot of it last year was pipe line into new markets.
Called Jane Jordan. She rcd. DIG OK and it is all right
for me to hold onto the other Interact games indefinitely.
She just had a hard time from the "Cooper Museum"
because of some cards that were stolen from a case that was
pried open a little.
I called the "Exposition Press" for Michael. He was inter-
ested in their book THE ORIGINAL GAME OF OMBRE. He can
order it for $3.20. He can also ask for the address of
the author.
Michael [crossout] told me about a set for THE JUNGLE GAME
which he bought in Chinatown in London. He thinks it is a good
game. I showed him the spread in "Marie Claire."
He also bought in Chinatown a Chinese GAME, similar to
NEW BATTLE OF ARMIES CHESS, but including army, navy,
airforce - and considerably bigger. He hasn't had a chance to
have it translated yet. If he can find a copy he will send
it to me when he gets back to England.
Claude called. He'd like to meet Michael sometime. Also sug-
gested giving him a copy of BIG FUNERAL. Did but found
that 2 out of the remaining 3 I had were incomplete;
(only one of the 10, 20, 30 cards).
Also gave Michael a copy of MONAD (one of the early ones).
Michael left me a list of pages of books he would like
reproduced - or BB can type some of the short items.
I loaned Michael three German books which he will
return when he visits at the end of November. The
