TUESDAY 13 OCTOBER 1970
286th day - 79 days to come
Rcd. a copy of S & T letter to book publishers from
Al Nofi. He wants it back since they don't have
another good copy.
Rcd. a letter from A. Richter, who just quit his job to
designe toys and games. He sent me information about
2 games: QUADRUME [illegible crossed out] DELL. He
mentions two others: DERBY & TUMBLE COLORS.
Rcd. a letter from Pierre Berloquin, written before mine
reached him. Had a description of a simple game for
a men's magazine called PENTHERMAPHRODITE.
He is doing a monthly TV show teaching solitaire games
and would appreciate NEW DEAL SOLITAIRE. Another monthly
show on games in general is in the works.
Called Marge Naramore and spoke to someone since she wasn't in.
He will send me a glossy of SMOG.
The 6 titles Felicia told me about: LIFE IN THE WATER
erc. (see 9/8) are out but they are not games. They
are educational kits.
ECOLOGY will probably not be out till after X'Mas.
"Al Costeles" called from the office. He has 8 more storage
boxes. I'll try to get them by Saturday. If not they'll
probably be safe until I can drive again. Or possibly
Al will bring them here some Saturday, meet Mary, and
spend the evening.
Wrote letters to: D.Laycock (SQUATTER, etc.)
H.A. Cartwright (WORD SOLITAIRE) - Tried a game and won.
Willard Allphin (Article on MONOPOLY)
Harold A. Kuhn (TICKER TAPE)
(cont. on 10/12)
(cont. from 10/14) [10/14]
Player to change the position of one tile, and then
play additional tiles as part of the same turn.
[illegible crossed out] I suggested that he might cut down on
the number of tiles req'd, in the game by putting
those that are to opposite hand on the two sides of
a tile. (Later realized that a grab bag would then
be needed for drawing new tiles.)
I told Frank that the market was flooded with
abstract strategy games and that if we want to
sell them we will have to tie them in with some
"relevant" subject.
