TUESDAY 6 OCTOBER
1970 279th day - 86 days to come
Wrote to Frank Armbruster and Pierre Berloquin.
Called Mickey Mackay and Stephen Sondheim. Left word with
both to call back, but they didn't.
Called Brian Blake and told him I'd try to work on the
memory GAME in the hospital.
Called Jim Dunnigan. In, but busy. He'll call me back.
(cont. from 10/7) [10/7]
reviews are the only part of my column that the bulk
of the readers go for. We'll concentrate on these.
The press cards haven't been printed yet. Jim will get
after the printer.
The contract with Vidmer was signed yesterday.
Jim suggested the use of pictures for my next column.
I'll have to get glossies.
Decided to include PLOY and possibly VENTURE and
MONAD.
(cont. from 10/8) [10/9]
Got glossies of CARAPACE and PENTAGON (which

of MEM or QUERIES 'N THEORIES. I'll write to Zena
Gelman and Ruth Patmore. Promised to send her a
copy of my column on MEM.

companies that they are flooding the retailers. Each
small publisher thinks that his game(s) is the greatest
and hocks everything to put it out. He doesn't leave
any money for advertising and falls flat on his face.
Frank Armbruster made a fortune on INSTANT INSANITY
and DEELIE BOBBERS but then lost it all by putting out
things himself. He was swindled by an associate, but
he should have been watching what the guy did.
The two men at "Createk" are both single and are
willing to put up money for advertising promotions
by the retailers. They are doing quite well with
SEDUCTION and DIPSOMANIA, their new drinking game
which is a path game with some play value, she
said since I didn't look at it. I mentioned that I
thought that SPECULATION was their best game. She
said that the name is not moving and they are
