SUNDAY 4 OCTOBER 1970
St. Francis of Assisi
Nineteenth Sunday after Trinity 277th day - 88 days to come
Long telephone call from Claude. Nothing specifically about games.
(cont. from 10/5) [10/9]
of Touche and I supplied the name.) She also has
appointments with other inventors.
To "Cadaco" and spoke to Dan Monahan. Told him of
leaving work. He said that their volume has been a-
bout the same as last year, but their profit will
probably be down.
Gave me a copy of POK-A-DICE. It is changed a
bit from Tony's original rules.
He suggested again that I submit games. I said
I would after I get back on my feet following the operation.
To Jack Davis. Got a copy of PLOY and glossies of
PLOY, MONAD, and VENTURE.
Jane Jordan asked for some of the pictures of me to
include their souvenir book of the exhibit. This
had the largest attendance of any except their X'Mas
shows.
Jack has not written his report to Bob MacCumber
on what happened to me at the exhibit, but he will as
soon as he gets a break in his work load.
He asked the one in charge of the European operation
about the games. The only one the fellow could think
of that was doing well was TWIXT, but games are only
a small part of his operation.
I mentioned the two German books with mentions
of ACQUIRE and other 3M games. I'll call him next
week and give him the names and publishers so that
he can pass them on to the one in charge.
Jack was wondering when T&N would do the article
on the Gamette packaging. I told him I thought
it was in the Sept. issue. I'll check on this and let
him know next week.
Jack gave me 6 copies of the large color catalog.
Rcd. a letter from Warren Buell with a lot of
clippings, some of which I had and others new.
He may be in New York on Nov. 12/13.
Rcd. another long letter from Haar Hoolim with a letter
to and from "T.H. O'Beirne" (PUZZLES AND PARADOXES).
Also more thoughts on his game FAR.
