THURSDAY 13 AUGUST 1970
225th day - 140 days to come
Ken Morgan brought me a rough copy of MOVIE MOGULS
which he asked me to return next week. (He will
get me a finished copy as soon as they are ready.)
I gave him two copies of S&T to give to "David LeFebvre".
Felicia called. She had a letter from Lily Elkan and
couldn't remember her. I told her.
Allan Turoff is indefinite about when he will have
his idea (see 8/12) ready for me to see.
Had an idea for an overlay puzzle, BITS AND PIECES.
[Three drawings of 5x5 grids each with drawn dots and some square edges drawn in thicker.]
There are 8 transparent
layouts similar to the 2
towards the right. Each one
will have one segment of
those marked with a [dot].
Object is to pile the 8 so
that the complete quadrille is
formed.
Rcd. SMOG and DIRTY WATER from "Urban Systems."
Rcd. the $144 refund for A.A. from "Random House."
Spoke to Ira Bailin. At one of the dept. stores he picked
up a small colored folder from 3M with ACQUIRE on
the cover. Unfortunately he misplaced it.
Called Jim Dunnigan. The flyer with repros of my COMBINATION
column is ready. I'll pick it up tomorrow. He discussed
my preparing a layout for a press card, bringing it to
a printer, and then being reimbursed. The contract
with Vidmer is getting close to being signed.
Looking at AIRLINE and HAVING A WONDERFUL TIME again.
Came up with an idea for the latter:
Provide 24 "scoring cards", bringing the total to 108.
There are 6 cards totaling at least as much as the
penalty involved, with no change. If he doesn't have
enough he gives back what he has.
Rcd. a card from Henry Pelham Burn announcing his
marriage. (Formerly of PACE Magazine.)
