Rcd. NOST-ALGIA #124.
Rcd. a letter from an AGOG reader in Argentina. He
mistakenly thought he found an error in the
example for THREE MUSKETEERS. (I checked it out.)
He also mentioned a game TEMPO which he looked
for in the review section.
He sent me the rules of Chilean card game called
ZAFARRANCHO.
Anthony Dickins here for lunch and to spend the afternoon.
The address I rcd. is for his business. He is at present
moving and will send me his new address when he gets it.
He is here on business and on pleasure. The business
is selling A GUIDE TO FAIRY CHESS to Dover for a
flat fee. (Didn't tell me the amount but he is happy
with it.)
He saw Bob Bruce of NOST-ALGIA during the week
He has a good collection of books on CHESS variants.
Anthony was impressed with my book collection, particularly
my having Dawson's copy of A HISTORY OF CHESS.
Anthony looked through the rules of all my published games
and I gave him a copy of MONAD.
Anthony looked through AGOG and says he will buy a copy.
He mentioned the the BRITISH CHESS MAGAZINE has published
an exact facsimile of THE GAME AND PLAY OF CHESSE
by Caxton, which was the earliest English book on CHESS,
not on the play but on morality. I asked him to have
them send me a copy and bill me. He paid 30 shillings,
but it may have gone up.
Dale and her friends playing DOZO in the evening.
Anthony was interested in my model of TOTALLY-- and I
showed him how it worked.
Anthony mentioned that Triang's THE BATTLE GAME was quite
popular in England now.
