SATURDAY 25 JULY 1970
St. James, Apostle 206th day - 159 days to come
Rcd. another copy of INTERPLANETARY COMMUNICATOR (without date
or number). Has articles on MARTIAN CHESS (JETAN),
WAR OF THE RINGS, COSMIC DIPLOMACY, and LENSMAN.
Rcd. a letter from Michael Trombetta (who is interested in
CASE OF THE ELUSIVE ASSASSIN). He sent the rules for a
Hawaiian game KONANE.
Trying to solve TORTURE TOWER, couldn't.
Read the rules for QUERIES 'N THEORIES. Quite interesting.
(cont. from 7/29) [7/31]
as a favor, but if any creative work on my part was
involved I would want a cut of the royalties.
They are close to buying "Crestline" in California
but there is a possibility that they may also, or
instead, buy "Field Mfg. Co." on Long Island. If they do
he will want to talk to me about the possibility of my
working for them, using this office as a base.
They were written up in "Business Week" (I believe)
and altho the games were only a small part of the
article they rcd. a number of GAMEs for possible
publication, mainly card games. There are about 25 of
these and he will write to me about them since
he is quite interested in card GAMEs and would like
to see any I have.
I mentioned that ZODIAC 111 was simply CANASTA and he
agreed.
He will send ,e a box of blank cards for preparing models.
I asked when the latest time was that the games
could be submitted and still make it for "Stationery Show"
next year. He said the end of the year. I said I'd
get some to him by then.
I invited him over this evening and he said he'd
try (he didn't make it) but that if he couldn't he would
certainly do it next time he is in town.
The DAILY NEWS had an article on the "Hallmark" Game
exhibit. Didn't mention me. (Filed in Articles from
Periodicals.) [started 7/31]
The check for $1,544.89 came from 3M.
