Tuesday 14 July 1970
195th day - 170 days to come
Read FOUR BY FOUR on subway. Also looked at CRISIS
(Western Behavioral Sciences Institute.) It is similar,
and not as good, as NAPOLI. There are 6 countries. Four
[Drawing on left of page of three jagged circles divided horizontally.]
are more powerful and are lo-
cated on the outer islands. Two
are weaker but they have a
very valuable mine just at the
[crossout] border. (The mine produces an
almost endless energy source.) Each
country tries to get the best
control they can of the mine.
But if they are too aggressive
a war can start which no one can win. If they give
up to much their people will overthrow them. The evalu-
ation however is done by approximate rather than defin-
ite standards. (Didn't get a chance to reproduce it.)
Made repros of STARPOWER. Also the rules for SUM-UP.
Made a layout of a board spacing for COUNTERPOINT.
Made an arrangement of double entry cards for SEARCH, at
my fathers.
Looked at some of his translations of MALÉ CARLO. They
seemed to be quite understandable.
Played a game of COMBINATION to show dad how it went. Won it.
Brian Blake called to see how I was doing with the Memory
GAME. Told him and said that I hoped to have something
I could show him next week. He said that his interest
was in helping me and Harry. I said he should defin-
itely get a cut as an agent.
Jane Jordan called. She is preparing the signs for the demon-
strations. The others all say a manufacturer presents.
She'll do mine as Sid Sackson presents - --. She thinks
that will be an interesting difference.
NOST-ALGIA - #123 came (July 1970). It has a plug
for AGOG by Bill Rawlings of NCG. Championships.
Fay Hertog sent a batch of AGOG brochures from the
"Science & Executive Book Clubs."
Rcd. a letter from James J. Augustine. He is sending a copy
of THE MERGERS GAME. He knowns, and is impressed by
AGOG.
