TURSDAY 9 JULY 1970
190th day - 175 days to come
Jack Davis called. They couldn't find a copy of ACQUIRE
to buy. I said I'd get mine to Jane Jordan.
He rcd. the Gamettes from St. Paul. TOWN & COUNTRY
Magazine borrowed them to take pictures for possible use in
their X'Mas issue. They told MONAD, VENTURE, & OCTRIX.
The "Faucett" publication in which VENTURE is supposed to
appear is "WOMAN'S DAY Christmas Annual".
The editor of >u>TRUE (with a circulation of some 3,000,000
is interested. Decision in August.
Felicia called to ask what games of mine are being considered by X.
ANOTHER, WHAT'S IT WORTH TO YOU?, SPELLBINDER,
DIGIT, and PE-LING.
Another call to ask if i could get her more record
forms. Sure.
Told her about trouble in finding ACQUIRE and she
suggested the sales office on 3rd. Ave. Called Jack
Davis about this idea but for political reasons he'd
rather not ask them now. He'll try to cultivate
them for future emergencies.
To Jane Jordan at "Hallmark" Office, above the store.
Brought FOCUS, TAM_BIT, and TAKE FIVE. Gave her two
copies of the resume.
At the press conference there will be Bob Rosen of DIRTY WATER & SMOG,
Mr. Siegel (I believe that's his name) who is a collector of antique
games - but not particularly interested in the play, a representative of
"Parker Bros." - because "Parker" loaned them any games they wanted, and
me. I mentioned that I'd have to field all the questions on play.
The P.R. man said that I should say whatever I want, as long
as it is with conviction.
Jane and I discussed the collection at "Parker" and what a shame it was
that no one really took care of it.
Looking at some of the items she had around. Looked at NITTY-GRITTY
(See 5/1). It appears that there are 25 pieces each divided into
4 quarters of different colors (tho 2 or even 3 quarters can be
the same color). Object is to put them in place so that all joining edges match.
She had GHETTO and GENERATION GAP from Western. Didn't look
at them, but we'll arrange a time for me to do so; possibly on
7/21 after the press conference.
Borrowed STARPOWER, CRISIS, NAPOLI, & SUM-UP to look at and then
return them next week when I send ACQUIRE.
At the demonstration I can give out anything I want of a promotional
nature, as long as I don't sell anything. They used to prepare
brochures for the exhibits, but found it too expensive to supply the
many thousands required.
Among the companies that did not cooperate she was particularly
mad at "M.B.". She called and spoke to various people, including
Mel Taft, but they never kept any of their promises.
